I got to thank GlassThamesDoug for giving us the front and rear tinted glass for the 56-gasser project, wife and I made a road trip to Ohio this week, had a great visit with them and we made new friends while looking at all Doug's projects :)

Been working on the aluminum for the rear seat area, working to seal it off so the passenger area doesn't fill up with smoke during the burnout like the last car did

Pre-bent aluminum for the trunk area is ready for pick up tomorrow

Hope everyone had a nice Father’s Day. A group of our guys were at the Cordova summer nationals over the weekend. Only made 2 passes all weekend. Hardly worth the trip.

Would really like to get it down to 3000lbs but not sure I can without major surgery. Floors are pretty good. Hate to chop it apart.

YouTube took it down because their “fact checkers” didn’t like it, apparently. One of the early drafts that isn’t nearly as funny is still up :

Sorry that we didn't talk at spring Havana. The fall Nostalgia meet at Havana is tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'll be missing it. I've got a 41 Pontiac that needs some fabrication and rust repair work done, so the garage space will open up. After that, my 56 BelAir will be getting started on with some serious work.

As far as the 55, Last year, I replaced the original 55 Chevy rear axle with a 59 Pontiac rear axle. Unfortunately, at this year's Outa-Sight-Drags the posi unit in the Pontiac axle let go. However, I repaired it in about a week, (with a nice brand new posi from Fabcraft).
This was a bit surprising since the Chevy axle was mostly trouble free for decades. The Pontiac didn't last a year. However, I had always babied the Chevy axle and have been launching MUCH harder with the Pontiac. The big question is, should the front bumper be left on to run more as a Jr. Stocker, or pulled back off again to run as a gasser???

Glad you got the rear end problem fixed. As far as the bumper goes, I think it should have to live in the attic from now on.

I'm wondering what the equipment rules are to be eligible. I wasn't able to locate them on the Facebook page. I think I've seen pics of 4 links in the rear, so I'm guessing that's ok. What about electronics and fuel pumps? I've got an MSD6 that's triggered by a points distributor, and a modern electric pump that requires a fairly big return style regulator. Is this as regulated as tightly as the SEGA? (nothing newer than a specific year?)

My 60 Falcon was a barn find with a 67 G10 axle and i've kinda built it up as a grass roots car that got upgraded slowly as funds would allow an average Joe. I know it wont be competitive, but would like to find a place that I can at least run with similar vintage cars

Was that new fabcraft in your car at TFN's.

I slip my Chevy Axle off the line, heavy wagon not good for it.
