That dragster looks great buy zoom in makes me wonder what carbs/manifold. Do not see normal blower but big tube behind twin carbs - maybe?

Actually it's a cross ram intake manifold with two Holley 660s.
I had that intake on my 30 pickup in the late 60s/early 70s.

Wow! Mohr hp, thank you, thank you, thank you!
I haven't seen that magazine in 54 years!
My friend Dave sent in the article w/photo for me in71,
    [no, it's not sectioned].
I still have the cut out shot of it but not the magazine, nor this page.
Wait until I show him., what a shock.
    Made my day, Mick

Just came across an old shot of the coupe when I finally got it in all one color, grey primer.
Blown SBC at first, stock 38 front axle, no cage, no flooring, no glass, steel rims, so exciting! Mick20250513_0028.jpg

My Willys has been my regular driver since 2010. I bought it in San Raphael with the intent of driving it daily, since I already have a heavy hitter in my '53 Studebaker. The Willys was built as a mild street rod in the mid 70's, but we don't know who did the work. It had a good running stock 289 Ford and C4, 9 inch, and a narrowed Econoline front axle. I wasn't a Ford guy, but the price was right. I've made numerous changes to the car over the years, including swapping to a 'glass '41 front, and flat black paint. The car has been really good to me, I've covered over 100,000 miles in it, and the little Ford seems eager for more.

Souza coupe has a lot of history. I watched it race in Nebraska in the 80's, was owned by Grasso & Mills.[IMG]

    That really came out nice!
    100,000 miles on it, incredible!
I couldn't do that in my car, with quarter elliptic rear leaf springs it's not a Cadillac.

Last night the wife drove her 34, I drove my 30 pickup to our Friday Night Gathering.
Our friend Robert's yellow Willys coupe and our friend Bill's yellow Anglia [Thames] were there as well.

I installed a 60 series B&M shifter to keep the nostalgia look, I even had a shifter plate made on a DCM
to improve it but I didn't like the way it shifted.
Seems to me it could easily go into neutral at a high rpm [scary].
I removed it, now sitting on my garage shelf, installed a new one. B&M shifter.jpg Shift plate.jpg New shifter.jpg
I also installed a "shifter riser" for better positioning....much better.
