How does a car in that condition and history need a frame?

Nice one, @skooch . I would want to inspect that chassis pretty hard, though.

I hate that $1234 price bullshit. Just tell us what you want for it.

I messaged the seller asking for a price; he said “I'm looking for offers”
I told him he'd need to come up with a starting figure, else no one would offer anything other than what would anger him.
    …waiting for response

That price tag means he is fishing for the highest possible price he can get from someone. I'm betting if you contact him with an offer, he will counter offer at a much higher price, or he will tell you he has a higher offer, but won't tell you what it is.

    1955 pontiac catalina
    fuel: gas
    odometer: 75,465
    title status: clean
    transmission: automatic

1955 Pontiac Chieftain Catalina 2-door hardtop. $9000. Located in Eureka Mt. 59917. Clear title. This car has been local since at least 1984, possibly longer. In 1955 the Catalina was a sub-model of the Chieftain series. It has no rust-through. I have pics from underneath of the body, floors, frame, trunk, etc. It's all nice. It has been painted once. The lower paint was originally a salmon/beige color called corsair tan. The paint has a lot of wear, chipping, fading, etc. but it is presentable. It would be an easy car to paint. The black spots in the front fenderwells, is just where undercoating has chipped off. Original 287 "strato streak" V8 with automatic. Power steering and power brakes. It runs nice and doesn't smoke or have blowby. Transmission works great. It needs tires, but it drives very nice and straight, especially considering the back tires are bias ply. New rear air shocks. The seats have been recovered. New carpet, and the floor was painted with por15 before the carpet was installed. The dash area is in good shape. Kick panel vents are included as well as parking brake handle assembly. Nice old pontiac for the price. I can help you arrange shipping if needed.

Most of the cars I post from here in the area are within driving distance for me (Boise is realistically too far, but anything in Montana to eastern Washington is doable), if anyone is ever serious about one just let me know and if I can work it into my schedule I've got no problem going and checking them out. Helped quite a few guys get cars off of other forums I'm on like V8Buick.

I'd drive that in a heartbeat. I wonder if that's the guy that has posted a number of cars and trucks over the years. Eureka isn't that big of a town but does have an active car community so maybe a different guy. When I was doing my western trips I looked at a T rpu project and bought a Hemi motor there

I nearly bought a Riviera off the guy if it's the same one, but you're right, all the small towns in the middle of bumfuck Montana have a ton of car guys...I grew up as a farm kid in Conrad, which has about 2500 people, and there's probably more hot rods and muscle there per capita than anywhere else I've ever been.

To be honest, a lot of the stuff being posted here (not singling any out, just in general) don't seem like anything special. Plenty of rough-ish, non runners for prices I'd never spend, lots of common or less-desirable body styles.

But that '56 F100, that one is definitely interesting and inexpensive. Not that I need it, but that really seems like a bargain, even if it needs work that isn't obvious. I'd be shocked if that one is still listed in a week.

I remember it wasn’t that long ago that 56 pickups were almost unobtainable at modest prices, like shoebox fords. It seems both have cooled off recently.
