One of the things I find interesting and amusing is how many people have the same tastes in YouTube channels. I've been watching Dave Engels for a long time, his low key, aw shucks demeanor goes well with his craftsmanship. (as an aside, did you ever watch his brother in law's videos at The Luminary Shop? He's retired now but was a master craftsman at restoring or making coach lamps. Back to the original topic I've been watching Jordan's channel for a long time now. Besides his fabrication talents he has a great sense of style. Canada seems to have produced a lot of hot rod and old car talent on YouTube - Carter Auto Restyling and Coldwar Motors are just two of them, but I know there are a number of other guys too.
Yes indeed, his brother in law, and his skills at restoring and building the carriage lamps, is truly amazing!
Ryan was spot on, Jordan always seemed like a perfect fit here. Though, from his first original thread/s I thought Wa on his location meant Washington state considering how his location callout combinines British Columbia/Wa. I had never Google mapped Dunsborough Washington, just assumed it existed until this new thread and your map. Anyhoo, yeah, good stuff!
For whatever reason, I always seem to get along well with both Australians and Canadians... Make sense then that Jordan's content speaks to me.
Yep, these three are worth a watch , definitely. Oakswamp is an acquired taste but once you get the hang of it you'll be hooked. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/oak-swamp.1260843/#post-15427117 .
I’m definitely a long way from home. Currently living in WA for 11 years now. Originally from Vancouver BC
I'm surprised " Jap Hands " was not mentioned, another excellent metal worker that shares his shop made equipment ideas & makeovers to store bought tools to perform even better.
Yet another talented Canadian is the handy work of '"Coldstream Rod Shop" out of Nova Scotia, you gotta love this guys no nonsense attitude & his multi-faceted talent saving some time worn 32's
Agreed, I've been watching Jordan for a while and he is incredibly talented. Once he began building his single seat racer, I was hooked!
Agreed, this guy goes to great pains to achieve the end goal he alone desires, quite the talent for sure !
This is an interesting topic. I too watch youtubers doing car stuff and watch Jordan's. I will admit there are ones I don't watch anymore as they seem to change their approach to making the videos and what they are doing. These guys seem to go from a personable person doing things like Joe average would do to things to attract attention to their videos. Throw in the $$ they make off the videos some have really gone up in facilities and cars available to them which lessens the interest to me as they are less like the average car guy. Then add the sponsored items they get I even get more disinterested. But guys like Jordan who stays humble, who are very personable on camera and are truly talented and want/like to share and enjoy their passion keep my interest. I guess this my own opinion but thought I would share as I do like Jordan's videos and what he does. Keep it up Jordan!!
