In my opinion the 60's and early 70's produced some fantastic rag tops! Cars that just didn't have lid wacked off but were designed to be convertibles, many were better looking than their steel topped brethren. So let's see 'em. Who's holdin?

I'll kick it off with a couple of the Olds.

I love the SS belly strip that runs full length. One year only, convertible only, don't hurt em!
When you do a search on-line for 68 convertibles they are usually missing and the holes welded shut.

When I bought this one, the trims were flattened and held on with sheet metal screws but still there thankfully. Oregon Plating restored them nearly 30 years ago as well as the bumpers.

Okay, line em up. Someone post a 65-66 T-bird with the rear seat sport cover. One of my personal faves.

Pops 65 GTO is the one that started all this for me. Unearthed after many decades & moved to the shop now. It's awaiting its turn to hit the streets. Fortunately it's still nice under all the dust & the interior is near mint. 20200620_132624~2.jpg Screenshot_20250521_181703_Photos.jpg Screenshot_20250521_181431_Photos.jpg

Sweet goat! I love 65's, almost built a hardtop a few years back. I dig the T/A tail pipes too. Great taillights and nose on 65's. Tri power car?

IMG_6302.jpeg I’ll be getting this out of storage this weekend,
My dad bought one when I was in high school but I wasn’t allowed to drive it so I bought my own.
This was originally a v6 auto and he no floor and a rotted top when I got it.
    Currently a 5.0 5 speed. I’ve owned it 22 years

@Bandit Billy Thankyou ! No Tri power, but it still has the 389 & Muncie. It's one of those "ran when parked" deals. Got shelved in the 80's after my folks divorce & sat until 2020 when we pulled it out. He took pride when he'd tell folks " Its a real GTO, not a clone".. I'll share progress here as I revive it. If I can source the Tri power on a broke hot rodders budget, I'm on it.

It doesn't need three carbs to be cool. It has that handled in spades!

funny, since I live in one of the wettest areas in the US.
Bring me your rag tops, your convertibles, your roadsters, your top less cars of any sort.

Nice 67! Love the red lines.

I had a 350/350 69 vette. Great fun! Mine was Riverside Gold. Decent sports car. Fantastic looks. They never rose in value like I thought they would.

Thats 5 pounds of poop in a one pound bag! I bet that was fun to drive. I love sports cars, but I don't fit in them all that well. I painted a MG Midget BRG once, it was easier to just push it about then to squeeze in. What are the plans for the spider?

  23. Currently working on the brakes on the Spider. The previous owner replaced everything but couldn’t get them to bleed properly. The amount of work that he did to the car is the reason that I bought it. After I get the brakes straightened out, I will finish the body work (sanding), and paint it “seafoam green “ with a “cream” stripe… 29C5E9FF-3169-4102-ADE3-59B3C940D289.jpeg

Yeah! I had a 66 Landau and loved it but always wished it was a drop top. Needs KH wires. Mine had a tripower, 390 that I put together for it and magnum 500s. It was cool but...

Leave the bubble tops to the pope and @Moriarity , give me a drop head any day.
