Hot Rods DAVE LUKAARI'S CROSLEY

Hello there , anyone out there who remembers the late Dave Lukaari ? and his 1947 Crosley sedan .My question is , what type of gas struts did he use to lift the body up with ? out of which car ? Does anyone remembers THANKS .

 

I bet nobody paid much attention to the lift struts. Everyone was looking at the Ardun, or the A fenders, the chassis on display, etc.

 

Dave and I were in the same car club before he moved to California. I do not know what struts he used. I believe the car is still around and in California.

 

Not much is still around.

 

I remember the car well, but not the struts. You can probably find some thing in McMaster Carr, or its not made!

How long ago was that picture taken? Dave used to drive it all over and won the NSRA Streetkana event in 1975.

 

If that's the same car, and it appears to be. Whoever did that to it needs to be bent over those "A" fenders and brutally ass molested. What the hell is wrong with people? I remember the car well, it was amazing. Unfortunately this is the fate of way to many cars. That right there is why I haven't sold any of my cars.

Yes, it did. The Crosley, I believe, he left to a guy named Erick when he passed.

More than any car Dave had, I really miss Dave himself! I spent lots of time with him and it was ALL good!
