Mike Mitchell aka: "The World's Fastest Hippy" ran this 33 Willys and it was sponsored by Champion Speed Shop
South SF, my old stomping grounds.
Paul Kennedy of Liverpool now owns it [beautiful]. Mike Mitchell 33.jpg
Later Mike ran a Corvette funny car [I won't post a shot of it/HAMB rules] but my fabricator {Choke's] dad bought it, small world.

Mohr hp, I have to thank you again!
When we got to our Friday Night Gathering last night, my good friend Ward handed me a large envelope.
He found that 54 year old magazine on ebay and bought it for me.
    What a find!
So, thank you again Mohr hp!

Ok, Mick, this is a bit weird. I’m going to look like some kinda stalker or something, but really, I just hang on to old stuff forever. Since the Rod & Custom snippet was a big hit, I actually dug around for this Hot Rod mag. I have a freaky memory about magazine stuff from my formative years. I knew I’d seen your truck somewhere…… IMG_4799.jpeg IMG_4798.jpeg
And for the regular viewers, I promise, I'm a Willys guy too!

    Mohr hp, I'm stunned!
I had forgotten all about that...1990!
    No stalker, I'm thrilled!
Man oh man, thanking you AGAIN!
I may have the magazine here somewhere, I'll look.
Either that or a round two for an ebay search.
Made my day AGAIN, much appreciated mohr hp,
    Mick

The "electronic" magazine above was written by Craig Sparkes,
it's a huge write up but I don't want to bore everyone with something that's already been said
    here on the HAMB.
So that was page one., pretty cool,
    Mick

Visited by Dick Morago, he not only made a book of my car [previously posted] but did a shadowed shot of it for kicks. Coupe background change by Dick.jpg

I remember now, I had just purchased the trailer, Choke was done with the fabrication and trailered the car from Sebastopol to here in Walnut Creek with his truck.
    Whew!

Came across a picture of my fabricator "Choke" Jim,, Chris, Kitty and I.jpg [beard and cup] in 1981 at the SF Cow Palace Car Show.
He installed the roll cage in the pick and years later in the Willys.
This was the first trophy for my 30 pickup.

    I found it!
I had the 1990 Hot Rod Magazine stuffed away in my office closet for 35 years.
Dug it out yesterday, wrapped in plastic.

    Bonehead 11, good question.
The first ones I had on the car DID rub, so I bought another pair from Posies, threw them in and they were too high, looked pretty dumb. Bought another pair that were right in the middle [measurement wise] and now it's fine,
    no rubbing whatsoever.
Last shot: I dug 'em out to take a shot of the springs just now,

The second to the last shot above is how it sits now, no rubbing.
