Has anyone used the jegs electric fuel pump? The 15901 is advertised as super quiet. I am using the holley blue electric pump and it's louder than the exhaust pipes. Thank you for your help.
Is your Holley mounted solid to the frame or body? I use rubber isolators to mount mine and noise is barely audible, and can't hear it at all once the engine fires. Isolators are a lot cheaper than a new pump! https://www.amazon.com/Rubber-Vibra...hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4583589132584558&psc=1
I will try the rubber insulators. If I wrap it in sound proof insulation will it get too warm and damage the pump
Do not wrap the pump in anything, it will, as you asked, get hot and burn it up quickly. The Holley pumps are loud no matter what you do or how you mount them, some guys like it, some don't. It depends on what your fuel requirements are for your engine, but any of the cheaper in-lines from auto parts stores are pretty dang quiet if you aren't racing or your engine is fairly mild. If you have something that requires more fuel, the Edelbrock pumps are a lot quieter than the Holleys, although you can still hear them.
I don’t know what your fuel delivery requirements are, but I’m running a Carter P4070 and it’s very quiet.
I have an Edelbrock pump on my T that I removed the ugly red plastic case from since I had to mount it on my firewall. Loud as hell with the engine off but it fades away once it's running.
You know I installed one of those Carter pumps cause everyone said they were so quiet, I must have gotten a dud cause it was LOUD. Mounted it on a big rubber jewelers block. Ended up with a facet pump that I’m very happy with.
don’t know how quiet they are, but someone recommended these to me just this week, reasonably priced I was told and a variety of pressure ranges. I use the Holly 12-246....it is quiet, mounted on the frame and no need for a fuel pressure regulator on the Strombergs with it....in my experience......or drive a Roadster and hear nothing over the wind noise....
I have one of those on my dune buggy, very small and very quiet. All the rest of my cars have in-tank pumps, cooler, quieter, and you don't have to look at them. Replacing them can be a bugger.
I've used one now for a couple years. Definitely quieter than a Holley, super quiet not so much. I do like that it has a built in pressure regulator though.
Running a Carter and I like the sound cause its on the back pass frame rail...lets me know I'm getting go juice...

Pressure can be your friend or enemy. Most fuel lines are 5/16”. It’s better to have 3/8”. Many use -6 AN which is called 3/8” but not even close when you check the fittings. My stock fuel lines is 5/16” and the pressure is under at 4 psi. and feeds dual quads and in 8 years never ran out of fuel. Granted they are not big carbs but the same as a 245/270 hp Chevrolet 283. I have a Carter and would use before any Holley. I would mount it on “Lord” bushings .
I run a 4070 as well and it seems quieter in my 56 than in my 61, oddly enough. I think it matters where it is mounted, as well. I don't mind a little noise, a nice reminder it's working
