Since this is in the Hot Rod forum I’m going with Cragars, timeless look and fits the era

I've always thought Torq Thrusts looked great on those cars, or almost any hotrod for that matter. Cragars if you want some bling to the car.

  6. It all depends on whether you're building a hot rod, custom, lowrider or a stocker. Post some pictures of it and tell us what you're plans are.

  7. Whatever you choose it will look better than what you have, but I thought you were going with Cragars

I’m not really sure. I like a little of everything. Definitely not low rider. I want it to look classic, fast and mean. But then again I don’t want so much attention that someone’s gonna rip off my car or wheels.

Hey real quick, I found some centerlines near by cheap but the fronts are 14x7 and rears 15x7.
I was thinking about going for it but kinda want all the rims to be the same size.

Oh yeah my car is the black impala in the driveway. It’s pretty much stock but has a 4 spd Muncie but I don’t race. Gonna rebuild suspension to stock specs next.

Rallye wheels barely look good on the cars they were designed for and not others. To me, find you a 5 spoke wheel YOU like.

    Who doesn’t like centerlines?
I never much cared for them.
There are absolutely no wheels that look good on a 63 Impala.
That`s why you should just sell it to me... cheap. :D

    15 x 8" five spokes, American preferred.
never been a fan of any chrome 5 spokes but Astro Supremes.

I’ve never understood these kind of posts. Why not just use what you like best and to heck with what anyone else thinks?
BTW, 63 impala’s look best with stock SS hubcaps.

The problem with stock wheels is they are 14” and I heard tire manufacturers are not making them since it’s no longer a common size.
I seriously can’t make up my mind. I wish I could have 5 sets for the mood that I’m in. I can’t be having a bunch of wheels all over the place.

Most folks on this site don't care for Centerlines on a car like yours. They're not made in the pre 65 era & style we focus on. & Nothing ruins the look of an old car faster than "modern" wheels.
You can still buy 14" tires for your stock wheels. Or Cragars, Astro Supremes, or any of the other period correct wheels folks have shared would all look better than your current setup. Spend some time searching around here looking at pics. Decide what era you're building the car to. Then you'll have a firm grasp on what style YOU like. Nothing wrong with having a couple sets to swap around when you want to change the look.
Thats a nice car you've got there ! Have fun with it.

This fits that description for me. My old man's car. 15 x 8 Corvette rallye wheels, 275/60 on the rear (don't remember front size, maybe 225/60?). Lowered a bit... ;)

Regarding your car being ripped off, I said before and I'll say again, you need to figure out a way to keep your car secure. Keeping it junky looking to keep it safe is like dating an ugly girl because nobody will steal her. :p

Centerlines are mid 70's 80's wheels that don't fit Hamb Friendly. If you have a 68 Camaro or 70's Road runner they are spot on.

Personally 15 inch chrome reverse wheels with stock dog dish hubcaps give a clean timeless look.
Cragers fit the Hot lick for 64 look though. Plus they were put on brand new cars in late 64 and a classmate had them put on his 65 Chevelle 327 SS 4 speed before he even brought it to school. and he had traded the coolest 57 Chevy around for it. That 57 left town the day after he traded it in never to be seen in the valley again.

If you are shooting for HAMB friendly Cragers barely make the cut as long as you are shooting for a built/done up in 64 look but they don't fly on a built or done up to look as a pre mid 60's build as they weren't available . A guy driving a 63 Impala might very well have sprung for a set of Crager SS wheels when they first came out in 64. Screenshot (1696).png

    Now we're gettin' somewhere....

Chromes or torque thrusts front, black steelies & cheaters on back. Classic, fast & mean!

  26. If you're gonna lower it.....Cragars or Astros, pinner whites. If you're gonna leave it stock height, I prefer Cragars, black walls. No Centerlines....Even Americans, NOT POLISHED, look better.
PLEASE....NO 18,20,22 inch wheels!!!! They suck on old cars.

AND raised white-letter tires!!!! They are not HAMB-friendly either (first came out in 1967)!

Black painted steel wheels with chrome lug nuts. Pure evil.

Okay one more thing, is it dumb to have 14’s in the front and 15’s in the rear?
