I agree. The main issue is that whale tail. Its design language is simultaneously Fad-T and '70s-'80s aero, and it doesn't fit the c.1960 custom idiom. Simply trimming it down to a level bed top, and adding a tonneau cover (button-tuft? T&R?) could make all the difference. Then: skirts on the back? I think this might be one of the rare instances where a Continental kit would actually work, aesthetically.

Just needs the bed to be rebuilt - and that...er..."spoiler/bathtub" removed and you could have the basis of a really nice vintage style show truck. The cab has a great look to it.
