    Hey,

Just recently installed my union Pacific a5007 from Snyder's to include their LED flasher.

During install, I noticed the wiring diagram stated the light blue wire is for the right front light. But then looking at the harness from the switch there is no light blue wire, only a dark blue. The 7 wire harness has the following,

Blue, white, red, orange ,green, yellow and black.

I followed everything else correctly. Once hooked up I hit the turn signal to the left and both front lights blink. To the p***enger side and all 4 lights blink.. also when hitting the brake it does cancel out the rears.

I hooked the white wire up where the light blue should go ***uming it was used instead of light blue. Wiring diagram has nothing on it for white.

Wtf am I doing wrong, or am I missing something super simple. By the way, I absolutely know nothing about electrical work and hate doing anything related to it, i could never understand it.

Also, not sure if it matters but I taped into the wires and not the actual bulb socket

My advice would be to ignore the colors of the wires but learn how the switch functions. It is wired in conjunction with the brake light switch and you can determine which wires go where with a multimeter to check for continuity as you cycle the switch while testing which ones connect to which ones on left turn, right turn, etc. There are many threads on the h.a.m.b. which do***ent this. I have no idea what color wires go where but I can figure it out in minutes.

just so we can see what you're talking about...

To confirm, does it have front lights with two filament bulbs? that is, are the two wires, PLUS a ground connection? One for parking lights, one for turn signals?

But the wrong wire colors are confusing, it would help if you would know enough about electricity to be able to test the continuity in the switch, when its in its three different positions.

Did more digging today and actually had some help from one of the gentleman at Snyders. According to them, i had all the wires done right, however i did not have the original wires from the harness removed. So i had power at all times and both sets of wires ran.

I disconnected the wiring harness and tapped into the lights by just the wires from the turn signal switch. When turning left on the switch, i get both from lights, when turning right, all 4 lights still come on. The lights being used are just led replacement for the cowl and leds in the rear. With this still happening and wired according to the paperwork, my tail lights stopped working all together once i cut the original harness. At this point, everything is connected correctly and i dont have left to right, i have back to front. im going to order a new flasher and switch and see what happens.

It's probably a wiring problem, so don't expect the new switch and flasher to help.

You need the original light wiring for the rear tail lights. What you needed to do was cut the wiring from the brake light switch, to the tail lights. And replace that with the new wiring to the turn signal switch. And leave the original tail light wires in place, so you have tail lights powered by the headlight switch.

Did the cowl lights have a connection to the headlight switch? Are they single or double wire bulbs?
