Right? The car shows seem like way more fun too in other places. The only people who seem to be having fun and not taking themselves too seriously down here are the low rider guys

  20. Ya know, I think this place (the HAMB) is becoming a Bad Influence on me. I've had this little sweetheart hanging around in the Barn for about 20 years. (yes, you read that right)
    20220104_141057.jpg
However, I've had a finished vision of it of my own all that time. I have talked about selling it a bit but no movement as of yet. I have a ton of takeoff Shit laying loose in my shop like a front Axle package with no projected home. A 351-C CRAZZY Camshaft installed with a 4 speed bolted to it. A set of 488's on a spool and several pairs of wheels and tires to pick from. Heck, I have less work to do than Lloyd did when he started. But First, I need to send this little project off to Paint Shop lock-up
    20240111_085230.jpg
Then I have this little 57 all painted and Upholstery ready to install. Ther's not a lot of finish work to get done. Of course, it's been sitting and waiting like this for about 8 years.
09-18-10 002.jpg Then there's this little Jewel that was making good progress until I found a Body Guy that I actually think will get my F-100 done and back to me. That put a full stop on my 40.
20230108_123137.jpg Then there's this little 5 day job that would make it at least drivable again so I can rehome it and stop thinking about doing a full rebuild and gain 1 parking space in the Shop.
20180712_185428.jpg But before I do any of those little projects, I've been telling myself next year for 4 years I'll be at Tootle next August relieving some Rubber from those back tires. That said, I don't know when I can get it close enough to the Toolbox and actually make it happen.
20220215_084854.jpg So Hell Yes, why not start yet another little project. I mean, it doesn't need any fresh paint or upholstery and today fully accepted as is. How hard can this be? I better get out in the Shop! Thanks LLOYD!!

The car project equivalent of, “which young and willing supermodel do I want to casually date this week?”

  23. One Nasty FE in the family is enough and that's in the Black Fairlane. Don't mean much though if you can't drive them. A heavy hitting Cleaveland motor is just about as much fun and a little easier to support and it was alive when taken out of service. Wish I could remember how long ago that was.

First, we’re talking hot rods. There is no such thing as enough! Second, you’re talking about FEs. While I realize that trying to make one nasty might seem like a daunting task, before you think the one you’re working on is enough, refer back to rule one.

  26. For me, a little too much is just about right. I'm no stranger to Horse Power or big numbers. Generally speaking, I look at what I'm building and how I intend to use it. I love it when the uninformed think I'm just an Old Man in a old car. The look on their face is priceless when they can't get around ya. Never underestimate a Silver Back. We don't get Old by being lame.

This 57 2-door wagon is incredible. That's unobtainium here, especially sans rust.
