Technical Edelbrock intake identification

Hi guys,
I have an Edelbrock blower manifold that I was told is for a Pontiac. It doesn't fit any of the Pontiac heads that I have. It is close but no cigar.
The casting number is B20 am I wrong to assume that the "B" stands for Buick? All of the actual Edelbrock Pontiac manifolds that I have seen start with a "P".
So far the internet hasn't been helpful, does anyone have an old catalog that lists the actual part numbers?
I'm hopeful that the HAMB gurus can help me out,

might be for older heads than you have.

 

It is my understanding that Pontiac heads came in three different types, 55-60, 61-64 and 65-79.
I don't currently have any of the 55-60 heads so I can't verify if the manifold fits on them.
I do have a 63 421 that is assembled, I guess that I will have to remove the intake to see if the blower manifold will fit.

I believe the B is just for Blower. The B10 is SBC and the B15 is for a 392 Hemi

 

Yes, it fits nothing newer than '64. Are there two different water ports on the gasket surface up front? Edelbrock did that on the single and dual quad intakes so that they would work on either the 1955-60 or the 1961-64 heads.

 

No only one on each side that are threaded for a pipe fitting. I think that hoses going from them to a remote thermostat are needed to complete the cooling system.
I really want to use this manifold but it is going to be an adventure.

 

at least it has a full gasket surface on top, so you probably won't need to O ring it?

Get a set of 55-60 gaskets and match them up. I think you’ll find that the bolt holes and intake ports are pretty close but the water holes may differ by quite a bit. You can probably work around the water hole issue. 61-64 heads have a lot of strange openings in the intake manifold surface but you might be able to make thin aluminum shim/gaskets to close them up if the manifold doesn’t cover them.

 

There is only one set of coolant holes at the front of the manifold, one hole on each side and they have pipe threads in them.

I have the later gaskets and I know that they are different, I'm planning to order some of the earlier gaskets and see if they line up before I go to the trouble of dismantling my 421.
