Even though I have photographed this 1949 Studebaker pickup, a 1949 if memory serves (which it probably doesn't), I can't remember the owner's name.[/QUOTE]

    Here you go Dan,
The Studebaker pickup is John Saltzman's,
an avid Custom guy, good friend, and great transmission man....
oh, and a roller blader .... usually out skating in the parking lot if you can't find him at the show!

Thanks a lot @1pickup. I hope that happens too. I am always on the lookout for new events to check out so if you know of any good ones up in your area, let me know. They don't have to be big. CCR , for instance, is only around 200 cars. I will be going to Relix Riot in Michigan in mid August if you are going to that.

@Dan Greenberg If you ever make a trip to Wisconsin, you should consider these 4 shows:
    1) Showdown at Sanford Field. Mostly banger racing, but the Brew City Gassers usually make an appearance as well. Not a big turnout as of yet, but it seems like they are building something good. Actually, it's this Saturday, 7/12, in Hillsboro, WI.
    2) Fire in the Hills Motor Show Labor Day weekend. This year's show is 8/30. Although they let any vehicle in, they do push the traditional rods/customs & several turn out to the small town of Yuba, WI. The usual, pin-up contest, etc. Bonus for this year: my band is playing there!
    3) Northern Roundup Vintage Weekend in Gleason, WI. I haven't been to this one yet, but it's on my list. Last weekend in June. They do let in vehicles up to 1975 but again push the traditional. Bands, flamethrowing, etc.
    4) My favorite show ever: Symco Hot Rod & Kustom Weekender. Always the 2nd weekend in August. The very small town of Symco is the closest "metropolitan" area. The grounds have several old buildings (Fire Station, Barber Shop, Bar converted from an old church, etc). There is a working blacksmith shop, and even demonstrations of steam engines running. Burn out & flamethrowing contests. Also, a dirt dragstrip with grandstand for mini-bike racing. Vintage bicycle parade, swap meet. Lots of musical acts all weekend (rockabilly, western swing, psychobilly, classic country, etc). Vintage campers too. It's a can't miss for me every year.

Thanks so much for all of that great show info @1pickup ! I will check all of those out more and see if I can make it to one or more of them in the future. I won't make it to any of those this year since I am already committed.
