Had a blast at NEVD!! Went many rounds including into the finals of "street flathead" class. Went down swinging with a 11.2 @59mph and I couldn't be happier.
Winner Mike in the 87 went 9.9 for the win 20250525_124850.jpg 20250524_123104.jpg

59 mph in 11.2 are odd numbers. Assume u lifted & got on brakes when saw you had lost resulted in 59 mph

@AmishMike my car and my techniques are not dialed in I guess. I learned that this motor needs to be fully warmed up in order to be happy. Track was quite slick and traction was not easily attained in most of 1st gear, graaaaaannnnnnnnyyyy- shhhhhhiiiiiffffftttt into second I've lost alot of MPH. It does hop out of the hole which feels awesome, it pulls hard, and is a shit- ton of fun- I highly recommend it

Man those caps look fantastic! Definitely gives a glimpse of how different the street and strip guise could be!

cruise into town looking dapper, strip it down and lay down a few passes!

Awhile back I got 2 really nice chrome hub caps and I've been looking for more.
Today I came home from my niece's graduation party to these in front of my garage! Hello! Thank you Frank 2de98dd6-0ba3-472d-aba6-7f89ec34a24d.jpg

Are you going to add it to the list on the deck lid? I love that detail

Been awhile since I've enjoyed the smell of spent racing fuel. Been awhile since the roadster was looked after. New plugs, fresh CAM2, battery boost. BOOM!! That familiar sound, that familiar scent, the goose bumps all over. Yeah, we're ready for the Fifth Annual Pine Tree Jamboree at Winterport, Me. this weekend. Looking forward to camping, racing, and hanging out with friends. 20250910_193339.jpg 20250910_193358.jpg

I haven’t been to New England Dragway in many years. I worked there as a kid and so did my Mom and Dad. My Dad was the N.H.R.A Division 1 Tech Director from 1976-1980. I was raised there since I was a baby. I miss those days.

While I was at the PTJ5 in Maine I saw a vendor with stromberg parts. I walked by twice and then I went back. I asked him a few questions and he said " can I listen to your car?" 3 minutes later I bought new power valves and #43 jets. I swapped everything right there in the pits and WHAT A DIFFERENCE THAT MADE!!!!
The roadster is a whole new car!!

This is a 29 Highboy I was building in 1970. Was running a Zepher trans, flathead, and a NOS Hallibrand QC.

On the topic of the wide 5 hub caps, I know several variations are out there with different V-8 script etc. are those as shown on your roadster full S.S. ? most I've seen were painted steel outer with S.S. pressed on center cap.

@dirt car I believe the caps i have are reproduction of some kind. 2 are chrome plated one piece and the other 2 are similar but quite a bit more weathered.
