Thank you @Moriarity ! A week ago I messaged Mark about a possible visit as I was going to be in the area. Sure says Mark. I am honored and appreciative of Mark allowing me into his home/ garage/museum. Upon meeting Mark he makes me feel like an old friend. We start the tour WOW. I feel like I stepped back 50+ years into my child hood. I have the same feeling I did when I saw my first HotWheels. Up until now my favorite museum was Indy. Mark explains each car and lawn mower and its history. This place is so cool. Mark wanted to take me to the Drive In in the Vette but it’s raining $&@#^%. Maybe next time (if Mark will have me). If you all get a chance you need to stop in and see Mark. One hell of a good guy with over the top cool shit. Oh and if you go to the Drive In have onion rings , root beer and sandwich of choice a nice way to top off the day. Thanks Mark Dan
I haven’t been to Minnesota in 20 years but you better believe the next time I’ll be messaging Moriarty about a visit!
You won’t be disappointed! I only took one picture as my photographic abilities won’t do the stuff justice. Pics or it didn’t happen.
As soon as I get out of jail I'm gonna visit Marks place, and honestly the kleptomania is a trumped up charge! HRP
You have one up on me as I have never stepped foot in the state. There are a few others that shamefully fit in the same box. My wife asked me the other day where I would like to go next, she was thinking abroad but I told her I need to see more of my own country...like Minnesota and the Moriarity Museum of Motoring Madness.
About a two day drive, lots of cool stuff along the way. If you go, stop by the Dahl Ford Museum in Lacrosse Wisconsin lots of cool old Ford stuff, not big but nice. It think Marks place should be on every hot rodder or custom guys bucket list. Dan
Billy is the Misses a shopper? if so take her to Mall of America. I gotta say I’m not mall kind of guy however the place is amazing. If she likes cars she’ll love Marks place. Dan
Oh you have to see the lawn mower in person, I would’ve never believed a lawn mower could compete with show cars but….. Dan Also I saw hedge shear that looked flaked, you can’t make this stuff up.
"Dont Cha Know" My dad was from Minnesota and my wife is from Wisconsin, more than once she has mentioned that she misses it and asked if I would ever consider moving back there. "To Duluth" I say, no I haven't put snow chains on a car in over 50 years and I sure ain't going to revisit that $h/t. Speaking of which, of all his oddities, doesn't it seem kind of odd that Mark doesn't have a custom snowmobile or snow blower in his collection.
I had snowmobiles when I was younger. The fastest one was a 76 Yamaha SRX. I was clocked at 94 mph in a 1000 ft on radar....
....Little known fact. It doesn't snow at Mark's house 'cause there is a huge Roth blown bubble that covers it. Hard to see in the pictures....
Oh and you have to see the birds Marks mom carves and paints, the feathers are textured like the real thing absolutely beautiful. My mind is still spinning and processing. Dan
Can't you just imagine an opening scene in a stylized movie set in the late '50s presenting a perfect little manicured neighborhood. Kids playing. A couple old cars roll by. And a woman in a flip and a polka dot dress mowing her tiny front lawn with the Atomic Yard Master. "Hi, Mabel!"
I can help with a snowblower. As I got it from Rusty Valley it would stay in he H.A.M.B. family. Free delivery!
Yep, Mark is a great host for sure. I know I enjoyed my visit! Even got to ride in the vette and the 40…oh and the OT little pickup.
Dammit, you guys.... I live in Minnesota and I've never been there. What's wrong with me? Seriously, guys as cool as @Moriarity are few and far between.
Oh, your ride would look right at home at Mark's. Just park it on the lawn with all of his cars, it would fit right in.
