I saw this and said “Wow, I got to save this one for future reference”! Of course I didn’t reference which tread it came from. And I’ve spent way too much time looking for it again! Bad Dave, bad! So please help me find it… please! I promise next time I’ll make a note of the location.
Thanks! No wonder I couldn’t find it, I wasn’t looking at those Christmas presents we’ve been getting. Gotta admit, that rpu is just right! Be fun to drive it around
A gold star for the @Sharpone. Gold flake. That rpu looks good with the shortened bed and the rear axle brought forward. Better to dig with, too. I don't think I've ever seen one done like that. There seems to be more than enough room for the engine yet the grille shell appears to be in the stock location. Maybe the body was moved rearward a tad or two?
I didn't realize how far the body was slid back until you posted the comparison. Look how much more room there is in the engine compartment.
Rear slid forward, no aprons, body slid back, and notice the frame kicks up in front. Looks thicker than a Model A frame, too. Lots changed. Sure has the feel of a bunch of parts assembled, not a complete PU modified.
My bad! I might have influenced my nephew, ratrodder, and his choice of a project once he gets fully settled into his new home. Sent him that picture. Yup, Uncle Dave is a bad influence! So, I think RSR is correct. The body is moved back quite a bit. Look at the back edge of the fenders relative to the firewall. The pictures tell the story…
Here's the same pic with some lines. Just freehand, but shows the basics. The Blue one was the first one I found, and just sized roughly the same. Probably not to exact scale.
I think it's because the body's been pushed back and channeled a little but the rad is still in the original place.
Looks like a modified 1940 Ford frame. Front suspension looks about that year, with a Model A axle. Rear frame looks stock given the gas tank, they just widened the bed. What a RAD little car!!
