No. The chop on a pickup affects the seating area.
If you plan on any use of the cargo area think about ease of entry/exit.
If the only concern is for styling looks, then Your call.

this one? this is a sedan delivery. I would not do it or have it done.

photochopped about 2.5" by my guesstimate
    343B.jpg

the one below is about 5". you would have to slant the windshield posts back in real life or make the top an inch longer.

    chopped, sectioned, shortened, lowered... :)

  5. Absolutely not, don’t do it, wouldn’t be prudent, no sir, absolutely not.

  6. If a Customer brought it to me and understood what all was involved and was still up for it, I would have chalk lines all over it before he left the driveway. Good project builds are getting hard to come by.
    Oh wait, I'm retired now.

  7. I was about to say no; until I saw this 2.5" photo-chop above.

    So yes 2.5"

A panel is not a sedan delivery.

Want an honest answer? FUCK NO. That's a sedan delivery as mentioned above and there's no style or functional reason to do it. At least not a positive one. Chopped or hiboy'd would be hideous, heinous, silly, and don't say, "But Jocko, 'BIG AL' was chopped like mad!" Yup, and was plastic, a tudor, and had a purpose as a RACECAR. A hot rodded delivery stands on it's own, it's dimensions intact, makes a statement that's indisputable. You asked. Hey folks, did I lie?

  12. I would.

but don’t hack it. Properly fit and metal finished

nice cars are easier to build than crappy ones like I buy. .

  13. Yes, yes I would. A sedan delivery for sure.

A panel truck, probably not but I don’t think it’d look terrible

  14. Wouldn't be my choice. Some body styles can look worse when chopped, like the 28-29 Ford 82A pickup body. It's a phone booth for a reason, not to mention the cramped quarters on a stock cab. It's like chopping a stovetop hat.

  15. I wouldn't if it was good. I have changed my mindset about really good metal. I have become a caretaker for the future of it so I'm cautious about mods. If it was rusty, it's a different answer. :)

If it is a sedan delivery, besides the top, you would chop the car's value by 50% and any potential buyers by 95%.

NO, I would not do it. The Panel is unique and has perfect lines the way it is. Not everything needs to be chopped.

Would love to see a 3/4 shot, is there one???
I like being the same but different. I once asked Berry Lobeck about putting a DuVall windshield in my 34 three window,:eek: (posted in my rivi thread) he was quite short with the answer, just like some you non- adventurous soles here.

  22. Was a pic that popped up. It’s in Pinterest.
Im not a Pinterest member, user or whatever so the pic is grainy. Could possible have more shots of it there.

It's just a vehicle, not a religious object. Do what you want.

I hate to admit it but I like the Bad Chad car. I'm sure he did something to screw it up after that picture.
the pics of actual cars were 4 door sedans to begin with.
my best friends neighbor had a yellow 34 sedan delivery Hot Rod back in the 70's. stock body. that car really made an impression on me. this was back when there were few outdoor car shows.
