Has anyone used the Clifford header on a CAR with a 223 I-6? 1959 Ranchero. These headers are a dual collector design and the front collector exits in front of the engine mount/ crossmember/ lower control arm. These cars have the engine mount towards the middle of the block and there doesn’t seem to be any space to run the exhaust, let alone a 2.5 inch diameter pipe.
Long ,long ago, Fenton made cast iron dual manifolds for the Ford Sixes. Old thread. https://fordsix.com/threads/any-fenton-223-split-exhaust-out-there.50519/ Us old Farts remember doing this. https://www.hotrod.com/how-to/1955-...ng-six-cylinder-exhaust-manifolds-the-old-way
This is another Six cylinder only site. https://www.inliners.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=91984 A while back we had a member that could make the flanges using a plasma cutter. Speedwaymotors has these. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/shop..._d16HtkPwb8I_315jRZSDpV0Q65plUQWppjj3zZG3wf-5

@JeffB2 I’ve considered the split manifold route but mine is in such poor shape, and my spare manifold is even worse. Putting that kind of work into rough old iron seems like a recipe for disappointment. I really like the Fenton cast iron header, as well as the matching intake manifold. There’s a set for sale right here on the HAMB but they’re kinda salty for this car. I saw a video of a car with the Clifford unit and he ran the front outlet under the oil pan to the passenger side and then over the crossmember and back. It resembled a V8. It was neatly done but seems a bit much. I’ll take a look at the other links you provided and see what catches my eye. I have a friend who is a talented welder and pipe fabricator, and he’s always ready to lend a hand. I’ll probably give him a call and use the Patriot truck header as a starting point. Thank you for all the suggestions. I appreciate it.
That is a really nice setup! Unfortunately it won’t work for me because that’s for a truck. The car motor mount is right there in between the two exits. The truck motor mount is on the front of the engine.
