Wife has family there. The weather iswaaay different from Fla. My only advice is to just be careful driving in some back rural road areas and mind your own business until you get known. I’ve found nothing but great people after they got to know us and I believe some of it’s because we were “family”. It’s a great State!

  2. Winters are hit or miss this in this part of the state. All of these pics were just a few years back. We get our fair share of nasty weather. Humidity is always an issue, but over the past couple of years it's really only been July and August that suck the life out of you. Another thing to consider, if you do decide to live outside city limits, be prepared for anything that mother nature may throw your way. Chain saws and generators are a must! These pics make it look like I'm out in the country, but I actually have about 4.5 acres inside city limits.

Well we will be moving with at least 6 old cars, a ton of JUNK, would be fine with a dragstrip as a neighbor and would never live next to a chicken farm, a dairy farm is ok, but screw them chickens!

I never wanted to live next to birds either...but, turns out that is my wife's hobby now. But, thankfully, with 12 acres and about 160 acres open to the north of me, I don't have any real close neighbors to complain. She puts up with my junk cars and I put up with her peacocks, chickens, etc. :D

North east Ga. corner between NC. Tenn area has always been a "dream "place for me. "East-coast mountains" 4 seasons...lakes...some waterfalls.. Not bad.
SC coast, fugeddaboudit ! We're full of "northern folks" that were on their way to Fla and....stopped!
Weather is NOT south Fla. butt the humidity this time of year will 'take-your-breath-away!'

I've been in Harrison for 28 years. Started in Mountain Home in 1992 and slowly moved west. I still love it here. Beautiful country. Great roads for motorcycling and cruising. The Buffalo River is close. Bull Shoals lake is huge and under utilized.
The cost of living is reasonable. Property values took a huge leap several years ago but still lower than most places.
    The drivers are terrible.
    Happy hunting.
Edit. It's 6 am and the temp is 75 with 93% humidity. only 90 today but heat index will be 100.

Spoke with a man yesterday about his property in Diamond City. Sounds promising. Any input?

If hasnt been mentioned we are in NW Ark out by Beaver Lake. Ozarks are beautiful and we are close enough to amenities and medical.

  12. Good fishing up that way. Looks like 83 miles to Ozark Raceway Park in Missouri. pretty fair dragstrip. Then you have 40 miles to Branson if that's your thing.
30 miles to North central Arkansas Speedway if dirt circle track is your deal.
