  2. I have a 55 and my username is the Spanish translation of "two - fives". I'm not Hispanic, it just sounded better than "two - fives"

Pretty common name so just used initials and last name. Pretty boring!

  4. I joined the HAMB more than twenty years ago and at that time I was new to the internet and leery of putting out too much information, after Deuce Roadster (Randy Nash) talked me through the process of joining he urged me to make up a name.

Today my sir name is well known and I don't have any qualms with using it, If I were joining at this time I would use my real name. HRP

CME1, my initials and the 1 is I'm the only one with these initials in my family. Easy for me to remember.

  7. Mine comes from the specialized plate I got way back in the 80’s for my roadster.
A good friend (RIP Gary Freeman) had HOTROD, so it wasn’t available. He suggested adding the A since it was a Model A. He had a secret phone number to Nashville to a lady who would check and see if it was available. Saved applying and getting turned down weeks later.
Got it and it stuck for 30+ years. Still have the first one.

Nochop . I was bouncing ideas for a personalized plate. I bounced a few out while my good friend was over checking out my progress on the first go around on my coupe, he nixed my names and said “ya need sumthin’ like “Nochop” since you ain’t chopping it. “

  9. I grew up with the nickname “Dusty”. In the late ‘70s, the barmaid at a bar I frequented, would mistakenly call me “Rusty”, for which I would correct her. Eventually she just called me “Rustydusty”. Just kinda came up when I was looking for a username. Fits my cars too…

I was sitting in my roadster as the next start at El Mirage when they told me to shut it off. There was a turn-out on the course. A couple of minutes later the starter signaled me to restart just as the roving commentator stuck a mike in my face and said, "Nice car, what's your name?" -- "Stan" -- "Stan what" -- "Stan Back".

    Kinda liked it, kept it.

    Nicknames!:
My stepdad would look at me and have to say any name but Tom.
He married the girl from his youth, but, after The War had separated them.
She had married an abusive alky and I was given his name.
Ma said the middle name had to be different as he was the 3rd, enough is enough.
But I was the same image as the Toms before me.
So stepdad would summon me using any term that rolled off his tongue.
Even the name Chooch as I discovered years later ( Donkey ) and Cousin Weak Eyes.
At the time, I didn't make the connection and was amused at the versatility of his alerts.
( My Love of the guy demands that I state it, to leave no doubt ):D
In the 20's I took work at a small ( 1 spot and a pit ) repair shop that ran for AAA.
Always eager to get out of that grease hole I made sure to have them know that I was never lost and could fetch cars from any place in the Philly area and surrounding counties.
Our AAA territory was much less than that, but being able to take longer hauls kept the money flowing.
So we contracted with a transmission shop and stations in our area that had no tow wagon.
The owner was given to call me "Tow Truck".
Over the years I hauled for three more outfits with the name preceding me.

Well if I must,...................................................And just for You's guys, cause I loves
    ya'ssssssssssssssooooooooooo much:rolleyes:.
Full Sir name is: William Lawrence Moe. Born in 1939, Helena Montana, just me and mom, no daddy.
Moms Madian name was Baker. Mom named me, Oliver Roland Baker. Which I knew nothing of until enlisting in the US Air FArce, (spelling intentional) which caused much consternation on dads' part, (mom was long gone by then.)
Dad renamed me William Lawrence Moe. and called me Larry when he learned I was his folly and in fact an earthling, when I was nine months old.
Now that explains The LARRY. part. ;)
Now the thirty four part..............................(man this can be confusing and a bit tedious. But then I guess that's just me, ya' all expected that of me anyway
Well ya see I was looking at retirement, bought this '34, that use ta be famous '34 Ford coupe, fixed it up a bit, joined an on line group of no goods, :p, had to have a name to be a member. My car was a 34, I'm Larry its a thirty four thus........34 Larry.
Sounds one hell of a lot better than 34 Oliver or 34Roland wouldn't you say? ( Now you know the rest of the story):D

49 because I have a 49 Chevrolet as well as an obsession for 49-52 Chevrolets.
RATFINK because because who knows why, I had to come up with something.
I've put Rat Fink stickers in the back windows of all my cars including my daily drivers since the 80's so everyone knows I am cool... I've never seen a rat fink sticker on a regular car.

When I first joined the HAMB, before the 2003 reboot, I tried signing up under 4 or 5 user names, but every one was being used. Back then it was recommended to not use your real name. Out of frustration I signed up using the truck I had at the time, a 1950 Dodge 4x4 truck. Back then the custom built 4x4 truck was acceptable here.

I used that name for several years, even after the truck was long gone. Then I had a computer crash, and couldn't remember the password for the old name. Since the truck was long gone anyway, I started fresh.
Eugene Koning is my given name. I only hear that when I'm in trouble. Gene Koning is who most people know me by.

When this forum started the internet was relatively new, so some used a pseudonym.
When I joined I was trying to use the shortened version my name for my password, then somehow got the two around the wrong way, so my name ended up being my username.
Although I prefer to be known as Clemens.

Below is the user name I tried to put in, although it was already taken.
My kids bought this personalised number plate just before I joined the HAMB

Given to me by a customer long before there was an internet.

Rebuilt my first carburetor in 1959.

When I first got on the internet, SPAM was so bad, one did not want to use their real name. Have no problem with using it now. For those who care, and don't already know, it is Jon Hardgrove.

Back when I was towing my race car all over, my CB handle was Red Racer. When I first signed up for an email account, Red Racer was taken so I used my initials and racer ending up with jaracer.

Self explanatory - 20 years of rebuilding multiple per day. 20 years prior to starting I was told to "stay away from distributors - they really change how your car runs if you mess with them. Its black magic."
    I love a good challenge.
