"after and before" just didn't sound right. ;)
I have 32 years of digital HOT RODS & Customs on my computer. there are quite a few cars that have progressed like this. I probably have others of this one before it was all in primer

  4. I watched this car being built at Westbury Hotrods in Concord CA. I was really disappointed when it showed up with the fake patina. It looks so much better in the Maroon paint. One other thing I didn't care for, is the doors are suicided. It was well over 25 years ago when I saw it being built, and I'm not sure if Westbury finished it with the fake patina or not. It's a very good looking 3 window conversion.

I'm thinking the fake patina was just better than gray primer for the P-Town Goodguys. I'm not a fan of suicide doors either. the green primer was 2018. I added a pic from 2022 finished and for sale with different wheels. the whitewall pic was 2024. as you can see it is actually brown, the "maroon" photo had issues with the half sun/half shade and my adjustments changed the color somewhat.

  27. So I don't hate the car, it's just not traditional. And I'm not bitching about that, I'm not bitching at all. Say you bought this car, the smart thing to do would be to just drive it and enjoy it. But maybe you could chrome the bumpers, the 3 grille bars are stainless, put those back to stainless. Do you do a wheel and tire change, and to what. Steelies, small caps, whitewalls. Maybe. A white top, maybe, talking a good chunk of money. If that car's from California, I've seen it, and it's nice.

  28. Pretty much perfect. The Sportsman above I posted about would look great this way.

the black car is a little to street roddy for me as well, but the wood was cool.
here's a quicky putting the wood on a stock bodied car. the slight difference in the 2 pictures would turn a 1 minute photochop job into 1/2 hour... close enough
