Daughter's 53 is almost finished. Last big thing is rims and tires. She want's to keep the rims as stock looking as possible but wider than stock. They are 5x4.5" bolt pattern. 15" or 16". The size rims that are on it stick out past the top of the fenderwell. I'd appreciate some advice as my knowledge of wheels is almost not existent. Thanks.
Being 5 x 4.5" bolt pattern (Ford) there will be a lot of choice. Just a matter of working out what offset/backspace you need. What size wheels and tires are on it in the pic, and what backspacing are the current wheels?
Measure what you have. www.youtube.com/watch?v=BrkJM-azfUw Diameter is going to be in the side of the tire. Either 15 or 16 you said. Easier than measuring. Width is going to be a bit harder with the tire on the wheel. Try to guess as best as you can. Tire stores have a big set of calipers to do this with the tire on. Backspace and offset you want to be different, since they are currently sticking out. They look like reverse wheels which you will probably want to change to a zero offset. You can measure how much it is now and how much you want it tucked in. Measure the amount they stick out before removing them. Include any inner lip if the suspension allows the tire to tuck up into the fenders. Bolt pattern or Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) is going to be a Ford Mopar 5x4.5. Since this is a GMC truck with a Ford pattern, things have changed. One more measurement you should check is the inner diameter of the wheel and the register where it sits. Almost all aftermarket wheels will have a larger inner diameter to avoid not fitting here. This will make the wheels 'lug centric'. Stock stuff of the right size fits tight on this inner register and is called 'hub centric'. If this is important to you, get this measurement. There are rings to adapt a bigger wheel center to the hub. It's an added expense.

Ok I googled how to measure bolt pattern and I was doing it wrong. They are 5 x 4.75. The rims on it now have 2.75" from back of bolt holes to edge of rim. Front of bolt holes to edge of rim is 5". Rims have 215-65 R15's now. Front I'd like to have set 2" further inside the wheel well. For the rear I'd like them to set 2.5" further in.
Chevy 5 bolt, also common. 2.75 + 5 sounds like they are probably 15x8. Figure a normal RWD offset is zero, that would mean 4 and 4. minus the rim thickness. Sounds about right in front, maybe a bit more offset in the back.

Doesn't look like 215's on 8" wheels in the OP's pic. I would guess those wheels are 7" wide at the most.
