    Unfortunately, electrical fire. Burned up.
First time anything like that has happened to me.

Oh damn, at least no one hurt and not in garage when it happened. Is it salvageable? I liked that car. I’m sorry that happened my friend.

Fire Extinguisher wasn’t enough to put it out completely. Electrical fires are nasty. Had to push it on fire out the door to save the building and my cars in it.

    Unfortunately not salvageable.

That sucks. Electrical auto fires are indeed nasty. I had one on 1960 Ford f100 4 wheel drive burned all the wiring in the dash, I think mice were the root cause. I was able to disconnect the battery before it got out of control. Lost interest after and sold.
Glad your were not hurt and you saved your garage.

It doesn't take very long before any fire in an automobile gets out of hand. Once a fire starts in a car, it becomes self fueling, the melting stuff also begins to burn. Things escalate very quickly.

You honestly only have about a minute from the time the first flame is noticed, to get the fire completely extinguished, before things get out of hand. If you smell smoke, you better be looking for its source fast!

Damn shame, thankfully you still have a shop and the rest of the herd. That was a cool little Tempest.
