I have since taken to having Hot Iron Club SUPPORT Shirts printed up. (these are not members shirts, only club supports shirts).
They are black lettering on white shirts, and are screen printed on Gilden Heavy Weight pre-shrunk cotton T-shirts. Printing is on the back. Picked up a test run today and they came out great, I'm very pleased.

I'm offering them here first. I had them printed up for anyone interested in the club's history and promoting pre-war and wartime hot rodding.
Shirts are $15, this INCLUDES shipping costs. If anyone is interested, please PM me how many and what sizes....please do not post your orders here, I know the moderators wont appreciate that, and i know I wont be able to keep the orders straight!! lol!

    Thank you in advance.

Just a quick note to all those who have been sending PMs and emails to give kudos,..thanks!!! Much apreciated,...I think its really cool to hear and read all the guys who are really respectful of history and what we're doing....it's really nice to read!

For now we have a simple myspace page for those interested. We're workig on getting more photos and info up, but its taking a while,...long work hours and such, you know! I've presonally been able to track down more former member's family members and they have been awesome to me,...I'm working on getting some copies of photos and trophies. We also picked up two domain names so an official website is in the works as we speak. Support shirts are still availible as we are getting another small run of them printed up. For now though...

Thanks again for all the support!

  3. Hi Jason: Yes, I can appreciate your efforts. Well done!

The Secrets Of Speed Society (SOSS) started 17+ years ago as a pen pal system and these 32 guys were all very similar to your Mr. C.. Today, we are about 2600 strong and dedicated to four bangers only. A strictly historical society that published the materials sent in by the members.

I believe we may be the largest ***ociation (club) in the world that deals only with Ford Model T, A and B performance cars. 50% of the original men have pasted, but we have told many of their stories in our pages (Secrets Magazine, Speed & Sport for Vintage Fords).

Secrets Magazine would make a terrific platform for your stories (abridged or full length). We started out as a cut and paste word processor thing of 8 pages and now are color, glossy and 52 pages quarterly. More can be found at www.secretsofspeed.com

Thanks for letting me in on your hard work. Again . . . Well done!

With Four-***ude to you and yours,
    Charlie Yapp

This is cool. Combining a devoted hot rod heart with history precervation.
I have no problem seeing why you put lots of work into this project.

Good luck.....and please share your histories and information. A lot of other lakesfever souls can feed on your work.

Why am I born in Norway and not in So Cal????

    Just a little side note.
This is a plaque from a short lived club in the early 50's.
I knew all the members and none were ***ociated with
    the original Hot Irons.
They didn't know of the original club when they picked the name.

Hey, thanks for the heads up on that. Interesting that so many people are unfamiliar with early hot rodding history,...especially if they were a club in the early 50s?? Very interesting.

Hello everyone my name is Jose I am 24 and have been fascinated with the early days of Hot Rodding from El Mirage to Muroc and any dry lake in between. I am writing today to see if anyone is still honoring and representing the Hot Irons. I have a growing p***ion for this lifestyle and remembering the ones before us by continuing the tradition and legacy they left us. I would love to be a part of the Hot Irons. I live in So Cal and I have a 1929 Model A that is inspired by a rare coupe that raced in Muroc on May 15, 1938 and was featured in a book called “WHEN THE HOT RODS RAN” by William Carroll if anyone is still on this feed, please let me know and show me where I could begin and possibly have a chance to be apart of that club thank you

If you check CoalTownkid's profile page he has been "gone" since 2012. If he was born in 1939 he may be "emeritus"?? which would explain his inactivity. I too was hoping to see more info on this.
