Back from Deuce Days and decided to tackle my nit list on the Tudor.
First up was the front floor.
Was lazy when I did it, so didn’t put a surround in place around the shifter hole.
    Now it’s done.
Also had some water sneak in from the front where floor meets firewall.
Probably easier ways to solve, but I decided to weld some bigger splash guards on and do a better fit (for sealing) on the front corners.
Now it’s off to get a layer of rhino liner like I did on the roadster floor.

    On to the next nit….

I'm working on a Mickey's Big Mouth "Fine Malt Liquor". I'm thinking about working on my 49 Chevy, we'll see how well that thinking progresses.... been thinking I'm gonna have to sell it. I've owned it for 49 years.

@Sharpone - Anything you do with your header experiment has got to be better than manifolds. Just my opinion, thinking about how manifolds were mostly designed to fit a space. The ones in your pics have the exhaust pulse at it's highest velocity hitting a hard wall right out of the port. Then totally unequal distances to the converging point. Your headers have a gradual sweeping turn, then a long tube. Hell, you can even start some bench racing folklore about tri Y / 4 into 1 header mixing..

I certainly hope you don’t have to sell your ‘49, especially after having owned it for that long.

Getting closer to a new color for the little Willys

And today I picked up another set of fenderwell headers to try on the 57 pickup, if they do fit I'll have to figure out a collector for them.

Headers don't fit, this time around the p***enger side doesn't clear !
I'm going to have to pick the lesser of the evils and start modifying one of the 3 sets.

As promised I managed to get the trim painted and on this week.

It has a slight overlap on the front edge which I kinda like, it is an attempt at custom modifications after all. It’s also a little short at the back but doesn’t bother me.

Please excuse my average job of fixing where an ornament had been mangled onto it and the ‘patina matching’ attempt with the paint.

It’ll stay until I can get a better one and when I paint the car properly one day.

For a zero buck modification I’m happy!

Whenever I took my woody out for the first real drive last weekend the breaks had a spongy feel to them the closer I got to the house and my wife noticed that it was making a noise in the front whenever I was turning into the driveway. So I finally got around to looking and come to find out the pin either broke or the fastener came loose because it was missing. So I put the new parts in and deglazed the drum and put it back together. IMG_3531.jpeg

Stopped by this project this afternoon. Got the grille installed correctly and had the plates for the carburetors to mount them sideways. Worked on a list for fuel line fittings and trying to map out throttle linkage.

Good luck. I build mine standing on a 35 gallon gear oil barrel that has a hole cut in the lid.

    Thank you.
    My first crack at this.
We will see how it goes.
I was really intimidated, but I’m gaining more confidence as I go along.
