  7. If all Cords had to be painted the same color, this should be it.

There was a color that PPG had many years ago that I was quite fond of, it was called Vanilla Shake, it was somewhat "less yellow" than the Merc example.

Not posting a pic because of the year car it came on, but I've always liked '80 Corvette Frost Beige.

  11. This may be more yellow but it sure looks close to the color of that Merc to me. Screenshot_20240518_154118_Samsung Internet.jpg

  12. How about the color on the body of the guitar in your avatar?

  13. Fender did a number of off white/cream colours. Problem is a number of them yellowed quite significantly over time so are not a true representation of what the actual colour was if you are looking at vintage guitars.

Cigarette Cream is hard to beat. This 37' listed on Sotheby's is supposed to be paint correct but looks darker....pic taken outside or age the difference?

Took a while to decide on the cream color to 2 tone my Ranch wagon. Didn't want something too white nor something too yellow. Decided on this GM color. Hard to really appreciate it since it's not an entire car.

Ha! It's "blonde". @K13 is correct. Depending on how much sunlight & cigarette smoke those old Fenders saw, the colors were significantly different. But I like the idea!

Well, the Cord phaeton you posted is as close to Cigarette Cream as you'll find. The other Cord is the yellow tone, and there's another even more yellow for the 810/812s. What you posted is also the least yellow without hinting toward white. I know what you want and for what. Spray that color over 3 bases 1 white sealer, 1 black sealer and 1 red oxide. All 3 will "adjust" the color and I'd bet one of em is the winner. Anything else is white, yellow or tan of which you want none of. Yes? No?

Quick edit, once you concoct a mix have it scanned to the modern color/formula. That way if ever a repair is needed you can get there from here without having to store a large amt.

Might look at some VW colors. My friend was having a hard time finding a blue color for his 32 Ford and found an early VW color. View attachment 6492351

The trendy interior house paint crowd get all lathered up over a recent paint called "greige", I don't know how they could decide when that has quite a broad interpretation.

Or Mayfair Maize, if you were a '65 Pontiac owner - same formula as the Chevy color. It's definitely more yellow than cream.

My 32 Ford is painted with a mid 80s Porsche cream color with red scallops, don't remember the name. Very close to Ford Wimbledon White, just a little bit creamier, kind of like the Cord color

  29. 1951 Packard, Corona Creme. I painted my off topic 1958 German vehicle this color. This picture is the best example I can find online.

Or possibly Doc Brown's 1949 Packard? I believe it is Packard Ivory.
