I hadn’t heard that Tucker had narrowed the body when he laid up the ‘glass one but it sure looks like he took 3 or 4” out of the quarters from the door to wheelhouse. IMG_4410.jpeg IMG_4411.jpeg I flipped the photo of the Chrysler powered version to make the comparison easier.
And the Olds powered one is still my favorite AA/SR of all time.

Doesn’t look like any Ford body embossed molding I ever saw…..common mistake to compare everything to a Ford.

I was inspecting a roadster at Bonneville and a guy came complaining that the cars body had alterations not allowed for the class. Seems like had more to say as he held the record at the time and planning to protest. I politely told to remove his head from the dark warm spot it was stuck in that no where in the rule book did it says Ford roadster body was mandatory. I didn’t tell him it was a Dodge, I had the competitors entry form/inspection sheet on my clipboard, I’m guessing he later figured it out!

@jimmy six , nobody mentioned it being a Ford body. But it is a steel ‘28 Chevy Roadster body that Hugh Tucker mounted on a ‘34 Ford frame. The car was set up a lot like the Stone, Woods & Cook Swindler with a big inch blown Olds, B&M Hydro-Stick, ‘57 Olds rear and massive traction bars.
When he went to the early Hemi and TorqueFlite
    he did the fiberglass body.

    Hello,

#7 is usually associated with Bob Waterfield of the L.A. Rams from those old days. All of the other guys are numbered as linemen or defensive folks. Norm Van Brocklin was #11. None of the other guys is #11.

Those two did play together, they were both outstanding players... but #11 is not in the photo.
    upload_2025-8-18_16-31-28.png nice promo photo...
