I hadn't visited the Lane in four years, so an opportunity arrived to take my son and grandson. I didn't remember this cool '37 Ford lowboy before, and missed any placard with info...Does anyone have knowledge of it? IMG_20250815_134919187.jpg

Don't know anything about it, but it's different and appears well done.

After you cut away all the rust on an old northeast car, that's about all that's left of the body.:rolleyes:

I feel silly, literally just went on Lane site and found same info you shared! My grandson, Jerry would be embarrassed I posted him on the board!!!

This was the late Jay Eitel's dream car. Another of his projects is in the "Coolvair" thread (V12 Jag mounted in the front of a series two Corvair). This little scratch car has a supercharged, fuel injected V-8 60 mid mounted. I think it was tied to a Pontiac Tempest transaxle, but that might be my failing memory at work.

Maybe should have built a model out of clay first.

And, it’s a rare day I criticize anybody’s legitimate attempt to built a custom. This just misses the mark….agree with the dune buggy comment. That said, add sheet metal back to the bottom of it and make it a tail dragger and I think you really have something……oh, and paint it deep maroon too. As a maroon tail dragger. Killer.
