Well ya know. I'm not real good at coming up with cool names  little insight to my name though, my dad didn't make it home from Vietnam, and my uncle Lloyd was over there also, at the hospital when I was born, I was named Lloyd because they were afraid that my uncle wouldn't make it back alive.

An old iron 440 is my go fast engine choice, I raced them back in the eighties and nineties next my grandson will. Never got around to buying hp with aluminum heads so I had to build hp with iron. My most hyper 440 I have is last one I built for myself @ 650hp 620tq and yes I street drive it.
My history with the 440 goes back to 1983 when first I swapped one into my 67 Valiant.
The vehicle I’ve had the longest, thirty eight years is a 76 Plymouth 440 Volare that runs mid tens and is street driven.

I've never been fat, but I had a chonky '53 Buick back when I signed up. I think there was a time when you couldn't change it, so I've just left it. I haven't owned a Buick in about 20 years, but my member number is, coincidentally, 322.

It was kinda funny when everyone would call me fatass at car shows and stuff, though.

I had a 34 Ford project that had stalled and was on jack stands at the time. A friend asked me how the “Airborne34” was doing. I found the HAMB soon after.

My Dad named me after his brother Jack, who died Dec. 7, 1941 at Pearl Harbor. An interesting coincidence is my Dad passed away 50 years to the day my Uncle Jack died...Dec. 7, 1991.

Not exactly earth shaking but here ya' go. The easy part is that my name is Larry. The confusing part is that I lived in Lone Jack, MO for 20+ years. Where you say? It's about 8 miles north of Strasburg, MO.

My first name is John, my middle Lucas. If it's about money or paperwork, I'm John. If we're friendly, I'm Luke. The world is full of usernames with Luke in them but there aren't many lewks. Other than the dude who used to call me "That Giant White Guy", I don't have any nicknames anyone will admit to.

Chris is my first name P is the first letter of my middle name. But it also makes people wonder if it's some kind of wannabe smart joke with crisp or crispy, but that was totally accidental, never thought of that until someone pointed it out to me.

Well my user name of @41 GMC K-18 while not elegant or witty or even unique, it stems from the association, and obsession, of having to own and drive something very different, when I was a kid in high school. Year's from 68 to 71, interesting time period indeed!

At age 17, I bought this very cool, 41 GMC K-18 military rig, that definitely set me apart from all of the other gear heads in my high school.

I am not going to go into all of its back story and the amazing adventures I had with it during the time I drove it and owned it.

Long story short, it now lives in the storage area of an aviation museum down in Bakersfield California, awaiting its turn to be fully restored!

    Enjoy the pictures from Dennis.

Hey Amigo, seeing how you are one of the more popular renegades here on the H.A.M.B., I figured you could use a cool logo, so this emblem is from an English automobile, feel free to use it as you see fit!
    Thanks from Dennis.

When I was a youngster, I was fascinated with trucks and construction equipment. In the 50's I'd sit for hours, watching basements being dug with cable hoes and dirt spread by Cat D4's and 6's. My Favorite book was "Bulldozer" by Stephan Meader. Naturally gravitated to cars as a mechanical outlet at a young age. As years passed moved on up to big trucks and Cats. Ended up restoring one of the last D2"s made (1957) that I use occasionally around the property.

    Interesting reading guys.

Mine is quite simply for the only boat I don't sell. Vintage boats and motors pass thru my hands often, but this is the work horse of the family, and I always wanted one when I was in college and working as a boat mechanic, and this was the dream boat of all my buddies and myself. Many moons ago....Nautique 210 Super Air Team Edition.

Nothing interesting behind mine. At one time I was a Washington County deputy and my badge number was 145. I used WC145 for an email for work stuff and just kept using the tag for other things. Even though I haven't worked for the SO in close to 20 years I still use the email and I'm WC145 on the forums I follow.

I moved my custom header/chassis side business from my garage into (literally) a brick and mortar building in 1994 when it looked like I would get layed off from my job at TRW Space and Defense. I called it Beach City Performance, a nod to the Beach City Chevrolet Corvette funny car and my building was in Redondo Beach, Ca. At a local cruise night a regular customer introduced me to a potential customer as “Beach City Bob” and it stuck. I shortened it for my H.A.M.B. user name cause I’m too lazy to type all those letters.
Previously, my old friends had started calling me “Smilin’ Bob” like the guy from the Enzyte ads, probably because although I’m not particularly grumpy, I don’t smile a lot.

    LCGarage

LCGarage is short for Last Chance Garage, I gravitate to cheap junky machines, then spend unreasonable amounts of effort and money to try and save them.

Another story; my legal first name is Ricky, I was told I was named after my uncle Richard who died 7 years before I was born. I asked my mom why didn't they name me Richard then? She replied "we didn't want there to be any confusion". My parents drank a lot! LOL

Mine is a combination of things.

Years ago when my car friends would hang out, there were several Joes. So we just got tagged with the year of our car. I was driving a 57 Chevy at the time, so I became "57 Joe".

After the Chevy got totaled, I picked up a 57 Ford Custom 300 2 door sedan. The car was a mechanical turd, and after breaking seemingly every mechanical part around the engine, it finally threw a rod. I pulled the 272 Y Block and stuffed a nice 383 B Mopar big block in there with a 727 Torqueflight, which is still in there. That the FoMoPar in my handle, a combination of FoMoCo and MoPar, just like my car. I had that car up until last year when I sold it after 23 years of ownership. In fact, the guy I sold it to is flipping it and it's currently for sale in Herndon, PA.

Oddly enough, Since I was 16 years old, I've always had a car of the 1957 model year. My first 57 Bel Air, then this 57 Ford, then another 57 Fairlane 500, and now my 57 Nomad.

Proof positive, that at the current age of 72.5 years of age, too many cheese burgers and other libations and unregulated intake of all things tasty and most definitely unhealthy, produces the results you see in that last picture of me sitting on the fender of the truck, back in 2016.

But recently I have gone from 284 to 255, still more weight to loose.
The journey to better health is plagued by the pot holes and speed bumps of too many temptations!
