IMG_1734.jpeg IMG_1736.jpeg IMG_1735.jpeg IMG_1733.jpeg Hey guys. What rear end is this. Axle housing is 62 13/16 wide flange to flange measuring across the front with 3rd member removed. 28 spline axles, 5 on 5.5 bolt pattern and 3.50 open gear. I thought this was late F-100 but the width isn’t right. Unless I am measuring for width wrong.

Measure the backing plate pattern, with the wheel bolt pattern it will be either "old big bearing" or "new big bearing" pattern. That will help on years.

But I'd say it's probably old big pattern truck housing...

  3. That's flange to flange, but not the usual wheel mounting flange to wheel mounting flange. Likely is pickup.

    It's from a F100 late 70s to early 80s. F150s got 31 spline axles

My '74 F100 has 31 splines from the factory, put a Tru-Trac in it a few years ago to replace the Trac-Loc. There's a dizzying amount of options for the rear ends back in those days, just getting axle bearings can be frustrating.

63 inches equals close to 70 inches wms to wms and that probably spells van. I'd start by checking for parts for a 72 Ford 200 van. Ford Axle width measuremnts.jpeg

It won't be a '72 van. They have one axle way longer than the other. I shortened mine 8" on one side to center the housing.
