Seems like a small number of them have decent info, but I joined a couple and they have been dormant for years.
Post the local stuff in the calendar and get it used more. Someone who is planning a cross country trip would be able to see all those local events and plan well, rather than a dozen local online gatherings.

@lothiandon1940 I can feel what you're on about. I get a leg cramp in my brain over the misuse of the 1965 rule. Malcolm Durham running a 1st gen Chevelle (64-5) should be seen, and it shouldn't matter that the race was in April of 66. What are we, trained pigs headed for slop or all-in rooted car guys glorifying the life? Did it all stop one magical day when I was just little shit and didn't see it. I'll raise a rt hand to the fact that I could pull cars from 1968 hot rod book that absolutely belong in our pages. If I kept my info silent nobody would say a thing, even the most tenacious hall monitor types. But what, the minute it leaks that it was in Rod n Custom 1968 we erase it?

I've been here since 06. We have dedicated pages for the utmost of hardcore enthusiasts who stop dead at Dec 31, 1965. What about the life? Did it quit? I know this a beat to death topic but perhaps the secret to advancing our cause and preserving the life is to broaden the scope just a little. Not all the way to Weld Wheels and billet, not muscle cars, but maybe if we loosen our collective ties and relax the problems cease to exist, vs trying to box everything up to meet a criteria thats grown organically on its own. We don't need much more than the original spirit. I never see this place being Camaro/Mustang/Cuda, but when you think about the rich and robust history that advanced itself in just a few short years? A lot more fits than "Hot rodding, 1941-1965, R.I.P." I'd bet a good cup of coffee we let a lotta shit fall thru cracks.

Ok, I'm done. @Ryan , mad respect on many levels. It's my hope that some outta box brain food eases things and sets our hangout in safer pastures. That was my only intent. We already have an O/T spot. Covers a lot of ground without leaving skidmarks on the OG. Rootin for ya...;)

I never looked at anything except the 52-59 Social Club. Never could figure out how to navigate to anything else. Somehow I stumbled upon this thread.

If Ryan can save some of the information in the social forums, cool. Past that we have the o/t section now that what people put in the social forums can contribute to the main board and be exposed to more than 3% of the viewing audience. Edit: main sub board? I guess lol

I’ll miss the 52-59 Ford posts. Checked them everyday but understand what needs to be.

Maybe if more folks became Alliance Members (especially all you whiners) perhaps it would make running the HAMB less of a burden and make things more pleasant for @Ryan. Perhaps he could even afford to hire someone to monitor the social forum problems.

How about someone with the time just start two threads on the main board and in the o/t section and just copy and paste stuff over for the 52-59 forum…

Yesterday, 23 people wandered into a social group thread. The whole week before? 27 unique visitors total.

Meanwhile, I’ve bled ten grand over the last year and a half just to keep that relic limping along… plus more hours than I care to tally. Those are hours I could have spent in the shop… or researching some old photo.

    All for a ghost town.

I agree brother! Now tell me how to find that damn calendar girl forum! And why am I just discovering this now as an Alliance member? Shouldn't this stuff be in the monthly newsletter?

Apparently it’s like the 52-59 ford forum and you can’t access it. Some Illuminati shit.

I would have capped out at the 100 dollar mark. 100 dollars is a lot these days. Or I guess not a lot these days? Lol

Amen, brother! Let me hear you testify. Fifty bucks a year for all this? For less than the price of one beer a week, a person can be a HAMB Alliance Member. This expensive creation of Ryan's is quite literally the world's greatest car club, and I doubt seriously that there are too many car clubs out there that don't require members to pay dues.

Some people pay more than that to just go to a show. Honestly I’m stupid for not just signing up myself. I will have to do that myself. Why the fuck not?

The Hamb with its numerous forums fulfills my Hotrod/Custom in a pretty adequate manner really...and is technically pretty darn social in my opinion even though it's public...I can certainly understand you letting it go...especially with the negative aspects you're mentioning...

I will miss looking over your posts as well as the other posts in the Upholstery social forum.

Guess we will get over it; same as the loss of the tech archives a while back.

Bin them. Even if you fix them you’ll be back at the same conundrum in a couple of months after spending more time and money.

I would be lost without the 52-59 Ford social forum. Is it possible to integrate the top 10 into the general population? What about salvaging the sticky? There’s a ton of valuable information in there.
