Well got her mostly cleaned up so far. Soaking the seats in leather softener the vinyl is hard as a rock. Filed the points, fresh battery and it lit off on the key with some brake clean. Brakes, tires carb and a gas tank I should be able to drive this thing lol
Kinda surprised I’m thinking this is a bone stock big olds/pontiac it’s open wheel and has left handed studs on passenger side still
Thnks man I’m just now finding out that Ollie had pinched the rails starting at the firewall back too. Dude was definitely out for trying new things lol
Look at all that custom fab work! And A/C to boot! Too bad it hasn't been stored better. So, now that it's yours, whatcha gonna do with it?
What do all the Dubs think of the new arrival?! I know that you just got it, but what are the down the road plans?
The vws are used to it there’s 3 more steel Willys inside plus another Miami/hollywood regular bob Lee’s thunder shifter 32 5 window and several other hot rods and micro cars lol Goal is looking like a patina’d version of what it once was but streetable I suppose
street rod stuff is definitely going away I’m trying to get the ok by someone w yea think somewhere around 26 cars here atm
It seems half the non-car public thinks my Willys is a Beetle, so you can probably expect that too. You probably won't know which car they're talking about when the say, " I saw you in your Beetle".
Oh boy! The Ford Sedan Delivery is easy, but I had to Google Lens the Microcar. A York Noble? I thought I was into some obscure stuff!
Haha ya it’s badged as a Nobel 200 1960 model. I got another micro car here that’s a little more hamb friendly though lol. I’ll give you a hint it's not a hillman
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! was never a fan of the willys until my best friend scotty built that red one..... I went to school with his wife since kindergarten.... I absolutley LOVE this car right here and that Flag on that pole makes it even better... They were building with what they had at the time... Time machine..congrats on your find and gonna hit that SUBSCRIPTER button up there too.........
Are you talking about Ollie Olsens car or the Lloyd lol. Ollie’s car ran a gas and c altered according to the class callouts on the quarters which car are you referring to ? The Ollie Olsen car ran a gas then took the hood off and ran c altered according to the class call outs on the lower quarters the Lloyd I just built to be ridiculous street car. However if I had to compare it to a car from back then it would be most similar to the possum chaser crosley which also ran a/gas
That's a Lloyd. Our fellow HAMB'er in Kentucky needs that one! Kinda funny he's building a similar styled '55 Chev.
Congratulations! The beauty of having a documented Vintage Race Car is picking the year of competition you like and restoring it to that period in time, if that is your plan. Personally I like this shot the best, have fun with it. Bob
Not true. Per the 1958 NHRA rule book (and their sequential rule books) for the Gas - Coupes and Sedans class, "Must have a coupe or sedan body produced by an automobile manufacturer. May be chopped, channeled or sectioned for a total height reduction of four (4) inches. Four stock fenders are required".
Yeah I’m just planning on putting some magnesium wheels back on the car, re letter the doors and re mortgage the house so I can put a hemi back in this thing lol want to make a driver out of it
