Any recommendations for a source. Trying to find a straight internal female flare fuel line fitting for 5/16" steel hard line. (1/2-20 tube nut size) to 3/8 NPT. To plumb in a Holley type fuel pressure regulator. For a 57 J2 Olds factory Tripower that has too much fuel pressure. Only thing I can find so far, is a fitting for 1/4 NPT. Don't want to have to use a bushing reducer if at all possible. Getting too bulky for the space to fit the regulator. Have looked at all the normal sources of catalogs from Dorman, Edelman/Plews, Gardner/Wescott etc. and no luck so far. Sources like Auto parts, Summit, Jegs, Speedway, Grainger, McMaster-Carr etc, no luck. Not sure that fitting even exists? You guys have any ideas? Bill
@justpassinthru Aerospace/ Aviation parts manufacturers, Some European . Parker Aeroquip Pluming in Industrial Beverages many of these companies have several specific different catalogs , also Earls or Russel has a special fitting catalog that's not common seen , & Vibrant has some unique fittings also Catalog Not there web site .
Bring in the pieces to your nearest Parker Store (there should be a bunch scattered through out the Chicago Land area). They will be able to put together what you need.
A "face bushing" doesn't really add any length to the fitting, give it a try notice that they have them at Ace Hardware...
www.polyhose.com. I ordered some odd ball brake line fittings that nobody had through them last year. They have all kinds of automotive type fittings
All so having sets of NPT tap / die you can sneak up on deeper depths to make Fitting shorter , more Flush
I've had good luck with "one-stop shopping solutions" at your average hydraulic parts and service storefront in Anytown USA.
Thanks guys. Was able to get the correct size fitting from Hot Rod Hardware, that one of you guys recommended. Also got a face bushing to reduce the size, but it made it all a little bulkier than the actual correct fitting. The least amount of space the regulator takes up is crucial. Bill
