Well, I am still plugging along on my 1949 Ford Coupe. Been a while since I posted, so a brief update Reason I am slow is I am (81) years old and somewhat handicapped. Do most all of my work sitting in my handicap scooter.... LOL *After ~5 different front ends, I finally found the right one ! * Rear is coming along nicely... latest addition is the '52-53-54 Ford Coronado option. Had a hard time finally finding one.. need to do some trimming or fill in for a perfect fit. Also have the fish tail exhaust hooked up and switched to Plymouth bumpers front and back. Made my own tail lights. * ~1952 Flathead engine is running great * Finally got the three on the tree linkage on the 1951 three speed OD trans. * Last week after a lot of head scratching finally made some adaptors and now have the clutch hooked up too * Just need to hook up the gas tank and could drive it... !!! * Decided (again after who knows how many choices) on final paint combo. * Hoping to have it totally ready for the road by spring. While do to my health I only can work in the shop a few days a week now, and rarely two days in a row, but just love doing this stuff, as I started with my first car at 14 years old ON EDIT: A picture of what I started with. -
Wild! Looks right out of the little books, I could see that being in rodding and restyling no problem
We all need to take a lesson from you, you showed that perseverance can overcome lots of obstacles!! I have to admit I like Shoebox business coupes, I had a chopped two door sedan but actually like yours better
Thanks much, appreciate your comments. And coincidentally your Shoebox colors are the exact same as I plan on painting mine....and similar to my 1963 Biscayne I built ~12 years ago and still driving
