Got to Sherry's brother's just outside of Knoxville about 6pm. All but about 15 miles on secondary roads. Great scenery and perfect driving weather. Only turned the A/C on the last half hour or so.

Lloyd, you da man. Another exquisite Lloydfest in the books.

See ya next year. But maybe I can see some of you before then if the stars line up just right.

  4. 941 miles, one way, in a 1950 Chevy, with a 261 and a 5 speed. Man this is hot rodding. It impresses me seeing all of you wheel your rides into Mt Sterling, from long distances. And there are hamb members within 30 minutes away that don't attend lmao! You guys and girls are true, ******** hot rodders, and I'm proud to call you friends.

  5. It was a really good time brother! I finally got used to the new hair cut :D thank you and Sherry for making the trip 3 years in a row! She's a blast to be around  it ****ed that it rained Saturday, and I still haven't heard from the striper. Oh well, we'll make the best of whatever we get!

    Forget the striper; bring strippers.

Just made it home, had a little trouble outside of Dallas. Lost a nut on the throttle linkage gas pedal dropped to the floor. Was able to coast off to a gas station and make the repair. Andy those zip ties were the fix.

Well folks, this could be the closest I come to winning a trophy but that’s ok by me. HAD A SUPER TIME AT LLOYDFEST III! Met with some incredible HAMBERS, hot rod steady coursing through their veins (along with Kentucky Bourbon). I rolled in Friday afternoon and said my good byes Saturday evening. Not Enough Time! Next year, all y’all on the fence about making the trip COME EARLY and STAY LATE.

Good on you LLOYD for getting people together by providing a welcoming venue, food, drink, and especially entertainment! Personally, I always admired a Renaissance Man, a person who has talents in several areas…Lloyd fills the bill…can erect a car from bones of several others, can befriend the friendless, can ******** with the best of them, can make you laugh like good weed, can play music like his last name was Allman (Allman Brothers), can put on a get together as common ground for wayward hot rod souls.

THANKS to everyone who came and to everyone who helped. See you next year!

Post Script: Should have done a group photo!

  11. I am not a Ford guy, having been raised in a BUICK household. I DO have a connection with the 1957s, though. I worked at the Milpitas, CA ***embly plant most of the 1957 year. I saw the roll out of Edsel AND the Retractable Hardtop.
    I still lust after a 76b1d3!

  12. Ron, that is the best news!! Made my morning. I am oldest of 8. We have lost the middle 4. Two of them went to their grave having not spoken for 15-20 years. Over a few dollars!
See him! Hug him! Life is too short for anyone, especially FAMILY to be upset with each other.

  13. Yeah we missed the group photo! I forgot all about it. But it was a pleasure meeting you Mark, and I look forward to seeing you again. We'll keep making it bigger each year!

  14. i thought someone else woulda stolen it so i didnt even bother looking! had i known it was still there by days end Saturday i woulda taken it lol

  15. even though my trip was shorter mileage wise it took me about 11 1/2 hours to get home... i think i beat him on time on the way back due to road shenanigans.

  16. So you made it back home? I kinda felt bad that you had those issues and we didn't jump in and help tune that baby up at the park! My shop is 5 miles from where we were, we could've checked everything out. Same for everybody else, if you come to Lloydfest and have any issues, there's a parking lot full of trucks and trailers, and a full shop just a few miles away. We'll make it happen, whatever it takes! Thanks again for coming Clayton! You're part of the family  and yeah.... I'm disappointed that you didn't steal the sign lmao! We'll see who steps up next year :D

  17. You all need to get in good shape before next year, because me and atch discussed one of the bouncy house obstacle courses for next year :D

  21. seems you too had road shenanigans!

  22. Did you win a bucket? I can't remember lol... seems like you cleaned house on winnings! Those were road dog buckets :D me and @Truckdoctor Andy filled 5 buckets with tools and such for door prizes. I don't quite recall who it was that won a bucket, then threw cash in it and said give it away again, so a few pitched money in it, along with a couple of other prizes, and it seems like @The_Cat_Of_Ages took that one home

Bucket saved my ***, and the Lord who let me get off the freeway without getting run over.

  24. Lol the first time I drove my 55, on the way home from a cruise in, my clutch rod fell out, stopped and fixed that, then a mile down the road my throttle linkage fell down on the intake. The next day I took a handful of lock washers and started going over everything :D

Just checked the time/miles. Guess I'm just a wimp. Oh, and it's not currently running!
    27 hr (1,874 miles) via I-40 E
    26 hr without traffic
Your destination is in a different time zone.

  28. Fly into Lexington Kentucky, one of us will pick you up at the airport
