Yeah, I lusted after one of those Hillmans as a teen. Thought I'd be able to stuff a SBF in it since the Tigers had one. Dad talked me out of the dream. Now, you'd cut the bottom out and slide a custom chassis under. Dual wishbones and discs at each corner. I'd go with a more modern, smaller powerplant, though. Lottery money would be https://www.h1v8.com/maxi-v8---specs.html

    I had one.
    Miss it.
It had no reverse gear - I opened the door and pushed it backwards with my left foot.
Drove it to the scrap yard with my Cushman in the back.
The scrap yard gave me $2 for it. Drove home on the Cushman.
    I miss it...

Did you see the “1957 Hillman Husky 392 Hemi build thread” by HuskyV8? It’s incredible. Sorry, I don’t know how to capture a link on my tablet.

Yes, it was (is?) a great build. Last OP post was 2018.
It really proves the 10# of stuff in a 5# bag, though. They did a fantastic job getting it all in there.
I'd prefer not to have to remove major stuff for servicing. That engine I linked should be quite interesting in a sub 2500# ride.
