Copied these from an eBay auction. It isn’t all the pages but still pretty interesting View attachment 6518185
Great fun looking through those old catalogs. I just made up a shopping list.... The Museum of American Speed had the "Wee Eel" on display with other Bonneville racers when I was there in 2021. Cool to see. I don't remember if Els Lohn himself drove it, but if he did he must have been a midget!
Oh yeah, if only we could order from that catalog today. I didn’t realize that Eelco offered so much from other manufacturers, their ads seemed to feature linkage kits, tanks and gauges of their own manufacture. Thanks for posting it. I wonder what the story is behind the “barefoot footprints” logo?
I'm surprised this dash panel isn't advertised on pages 36-38. Ed used this Eelco aluminum 6-holer on the Mysterion. I stumbled onto this one on ebaY and snapped it up. Really lucky find, haven't seen one before or since.
If EELCO got an order for an Offy engine adapter, Eels would call Fred Offenhouser across town and have it drop shipped. The speed equipment guys were pretty tight back then and ready to help each other out. Except for Dixco, all of the brands offered came from the new SEMA companies. As a side note, EELCO was a client and one day I was noticing a bunch of parts and pieces being swept up and put in the trash. I got two cardboard boxes of parts and hardware that I dipped into for at least 35 years! It was pretty common back in the late 50's, early 60's for manufacturers to offer products from other companies in the their catalogs. If somebody ordered an Offy item, Els would call Fred and have it dropped shipped. The speed equipment companies were a pretty tight community back then. Except for Dixco, all of the products offered in the ELLCO Don't know the story behind the foot print logo. But I do know the HANG TEN corporation sued EELCO over the logo and lost.
I remember most of what's there. What I don't remember is if I had the catalog or just individual ads in magazines.
