Once again Phillip hopes to impress by showing the girls his weenie nestled between warm buns...

    Hello,

That certainly would be a promotional shot as it is one of the busiest streets heading for the Pacific Ocean in Santa Monica. My wife and I have taken that street many times as it always gives a great view of the ocean after visiting Santa Monica Downtown area. It must have been planned with a company car following the overloaded pickup truck to seem like there are/were cars on the road.

(in the far horizon, are the cliff side residents of the Palisades area that had the awful fire in January. Continuing on the Coast Highway, one will come to the burned out area of Malibu homes along the water front shoreline.)

Restaurants and shops are just to the right of the photo. Along with a long green park paralleling the top of the cliff top. For many, it is one of the best views in all of the coast line along the top of the cliff.

If you are having a nice lunch on the cliff top park, on a clear day, you will be able to see the 180 degree wide view of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Point to the left and almost the Pt. Mugu big rock on the right side horizon. But, on any day, there will always be sail boats out in the water. The huge Marina Del Rey Harbor is just south of Santa Monica and the Santa Monica Bay is a popular place to sail.

But soon Philip is picked up for indecent exposer and to add injury to insult is told by the girls that his brother Paul is packing a five dollar foot long.

This was taken at a show at a Thrifty drug store on May 5, 1955, at the corner of Vermont Avenue and Hollywood Blvd. From right to left, Bob Hirohata’s 1951 Mercury, Dave Bugarin’s 1951 Mercury (both by Barris), next to Dave’s Merc is Bob Dofflow’s ’49 Ford restyled by Bear Customs.
Behind Bob’s Ford we can see a ’46 Chevy panel truck with roof rack, which was most likely used by Rick Rickman to make the overhead photos.

This building housed the first H-E-B, originally named the C.C. Butt Grocery Store, in Kerrville. Florence Butt opened the store in 1905 on the lower floor. Her family lived on the upper floor.
