and I don't know why... but I seem to like 5 windows a little higher than the 3 window... seems to make the roof look right for me

I'm gonna try to explain the wheel deal, maybe put some light on the situation... for me the wheel deal is easy... push the buy it now and they end up at your front door... but what happened was this... when I bought the car,.. in my head i figured the wheels where 6's and 7's.. easy but the 6's on the back and buy 4.5's for the front... order some 8.20's and 5.50's 15's so,.. I go to coker web site.. looking at tires...they had the cheater slicks on sale for almost a grand off ...but they were 16's.... so easy... just order some 16-8's with positive off set... so now I have 6 rims..... pull the tires off the coupe... and no 6's... they are 7's and 8's.. wtf....so I order 6's now I have 8 f'n rims.... but wait, there's more.. so I had ordered the new tires, they show up...start thing the 5.50's are gonna look bad on 6' rims... but brain storm... they be nice with the 8.20's......soooooo... find some 4.5's push the buy it now....bam!!! now I have 10 wheels....Soooo.. I seem to be one of the few that says... it is what it is... do I need to start over.... maybe.... but I'm giving the chasing my tail wheel deal a break...pretty much the same with the paint... go to sleep with tomorrow I'm painting it black, to waking up this morning and second guessing..maybe I should wait...mean while I just go slap dents out of the 64 f100

soo, I really appreciate the feed back, and do see the situation....the red is fine this morning.. but it was a gonner last night...

Maybe I am to literal /splitting hairs.
The wheel & Air Box / Scoop Not same parts ,,, They Look "Similar"
Your Scoop is BDS for carbs , Looks similar but not the same part, Different details , BDS LOOK 100% better then this Knock Off fake Hilborn for carbs .

    My self Looking for a Hilborn for a a 4 Hole Hilborn , Alky Digger make's a
RePop Looks close BUT Not same as
    The Hilborn...

Wheels on Blue Roadster are NOT same wheel Nor Style !!
there probably 10-20 diffrent 5 spokes,
    A-R before 1970 , like 5 styles
    Cragar @ least 3
    M/T 3 plus
    Fenten 4
    E/T 4

Wheel's On your 5w maybe came along 1998 to present ,

I do not know what the correct Name are ,
Torque 2 ? Some of us call them
    Banana Spokes T-Q's

Just like the Daisy spokes some time referred to as Coke bottle spokes .

You where typing a away as I was typing ,,, I am not afraid to admit the wheels that's on my 5 window,
    I made a bad choice
I should've done the polish Weld V and not the Black V's .

Holy crap, man. I'll leave you with it. You make it way too hard for yourself without anyone confusing the situation more.
But you are right about one thing. The problem is not the red....

I appreciate the effort....pretty sure I have like 10 cars with red wheels and bias tires...and have been doing my cars that way for probley 30 years, my cost on a st of windowed 5 x15's is less than 500... so that is just not the issue as far as the scoop...it's not injected... it's carb'd and covered by the hood...it's just there is some thing about the car that is stopping me from having a plan.... and it just seems to have a differant look.. every time I look at it....it's been a hot rod for 60 /65 years... I paid a lot for it.... but don't mind investing more into it to make it how I want.... but it seems that every thing pushes it closer to belly button..not say'n I don't like red wheels either,

heres some of my cars and trucks..

even though I wanted a more traditional hi-boy... I liked the look of this car with fenders... but they were fiber glass,.. and I didn't like that,.. so to me the plan from the get go was ditch the fenders,,

here's red with black...and a black frame...cool thing about black chassis is you can change color easy...not really warm and fuzzy about the black wheels...

@themoose did this, I think the heels go with the blower motor, and the steely's more for traditional looking power... pretty sure thats where I've been hitting the wall

The wheels I think 100% better then
    Banana,,,
Then Me I do not know full polished
    Or Gray
or Grayish Gold tent spokes ?
Or Complete wheel with Dark Magnesium color , A true 60 looking
    Wheel , 65-67 magnesium

The Red 3w with the Black frame & wheels with chrome beauty ring
    I think look's good.

Then looking @ the other Photo shop pictures ,
Sticking with "Red & No repaint "
5w in Red with Black , Chrome center @ beauty ring
    Or
    With Out repaint
    The All chrome wheels

    Then other colors look good
    But require repaint .!

Getting it more 60's is getting a straight spoke 5 spoke "mag" on it, those over exaggerated curved spokes of the torque thrust II's scream 1990's.
The scoop I don't mind or the flames, both were around in the 60's.
Try looking at ET's, Team III's and even Rocket has some 5 spokes that have straight spokes with a peaked ridge.

Surely you have the same bolt pattern on your other cars to try steel rims if you want.

When my pal in Bakersfield bought this it had polished five spokes, the fronts were too big and the rears were too small, it looked ok but he wanted it to look right, so.................
    We did this!

    Is that like Elderbrock?
No, the front wheels are from Real Rodder, rears are ET/Team 3.

Not having a dig at you. Just calling it as I see it from here while standing on my head....
You seem stuck between what you have, and turning it into a "traditional" looking hiboy. You did the same thing when you were flip-flopping around with the yellow 'glass roadster, and in the end you went with the exact same style wheels on it. You obviously lean towards the street rod end of the spectrum with the yellow roadster and it seems the same with this coupe. Just go with what floats your boat. You now post your stuff in the "off topic" section so it is ok that you prefer those wheels. You don't need to make anyone happy but yourself. Have confidence in your choices.;)

I think you might have miss part of the point on the yellow 32... it never was about the brand or style... it was about the rear end being too wide and the wheels sticking out too far,,it had 12'' wide rims on it when i got it..and though i wanted 5 or 6'' wide rims it wasn't happening..i bought 7.50's and 5.50.s...but there was no way they were gonna work without changing out the rear end..So,.. I found wheels that I liked. with tires that I liked and was done... looks good to me so alls good... sorry you don't like them... and they are differant wheels than what on the coupe... 5 spokes and no bend..
