If it was a hoodless car it wouldn’t bother me but darned the popping hood and taking the air cleaner off in a parking lot or in the rain. Yes I’m a primadonna:D

If this is true, then you have whole different problem. The only time mine sits unattended for more than a few hours is when it's in my shop. Thus, when the carb drains own or evaporates, it is, by definition, in my shop. Even when I took long trips, the car never sat without starting for more than a day or two, which has never been a problem.

I had a vapor lock issue. The temps were in the triple digits that day and the heat got to it I guess with today’s fuels they evaporate faster than they did years ago

I'm glad that doesn't happen in Northern Minnesota!:)

  5. I've had that happen in southern Manitoba !! An electric fuel pump on a toggle switch turns it into a non problem. :)

So, after all this discussion, I think I need to add a 6V electric pump to the list to fix my "hard start after sitting a day or so" problem. This is why I love this place. Where else can you get good information like this?

If you intend to use it just before starting, not running all the time, I suggest using a momentary switch or a push button to energize the pump. I know of a guy who installed an electric fuel pump for priming the carb. He wired it direct to the battery with a toggle switch. I told him he should put a momentary switch on it, but he said it was easy to flip it on for just a few seconds and turn it right back off. It took about a week before he forgot and ran the battery dead overnight.

  12. If you wire it into the horn circuit, you definitely won't leave it on too long!

Just sold the chrome smoothies and tires that came on the car. That money will go toward my 312 rebuild for the 56. Talked to the machinist yesterday and the block and crank are done. He is also almost done rebuilding a set of heads. :D

Speaking of, I went to the garage to put the pump on and I’ll be damned if I can find it. I know I put it up this time last year when I got it, but honestly how hard is it to find a 6” white box in a sea of parts

We are visiting with my brother and his wife in Carson City, NV. He decided we'd take a little ride today to do some site seeing and said Yosemite was the place to see. Just over 12 hours round trip. Great day.

Hey, where did you get that T-shirt from the 2005 Melbourne Hot Rod Show with Roy Fregon's (RIP) channelled 32 roadster? That was the 40th anniversary show and I had my T-bucket there as it was in the first show also.

They do look a lot cleaner without the bumper guards.

A hot rod bud of mine in Florida, Mike Herbach, has rodder good friends in Australia a and New Zealand. They send each other hot rod stuff back and forth, at least they did before shipping rates went nuts. Anyway, Mike got that shirt from one of them and fortunately for me it was too big for him. So that's how I got that KQQL shirt.

Considering one of mine is bent, I may pull them and see how it looks under them. Hopefully, the guards didn’t mark the chrome on the bumper.

    That rascal sounds so good!!

I just ordered another fuel pump since I can’t find the one I bought earlier and I tossed a Porter glass pack in for good measure. :D

Found an old car broke down on the road…lol. Fuel pump went out on Sid’s Cabriolet. Oh, and hiding on the edge of the pic is some flames I shot back in 2002 or so…

Is that yellow one the one you bought at the Duncan swap meet this year? Great looking cars!
