Well, it looks like “no hood” is winning. I think I agree. I’m going to try it with just the top and see how that looks but I’m leaning more towards no hood. I’ll probably get it to fit right and paint it just so I have it.

I've run two 32's with no hoods through all kinds of storms, no problem. I'd want to show off that engine for sure. Sounds like a great car to me, you will enjoy it so much, guaranteed.

I’m a hood top fan. No sides though.

That’s good to hear but I’m worried if Vertex magneto gets wet it will misfire.

Nice Deuce! How about a louvered hood top only?

I’m definitely going to louver the hood and truck at some point.

Got the 32 registered today. Put the plates on and down the road I went. Filled the gas tank and a couple miles down the road I started watching the temperature start climbing. Sure enough my thermostat was stuck. Luckily I was close to home and was able to get back. I had to stop twice to let it cool down. I’ve got the thermostat out and ready for a new one. Of course the 3 auto parts stores near me didn’t have what I need but I was able to get a gasket and thermostat on eBay. The should be here by the end of the week. So while I’m waiting might as well change the oil too. Other than that it went down the road well. Wish I could have gone further but no worries. It’s all good. IMG_9758.jpeg

Great car! The pics of that engine are pure Hot Rod porn. No hood.

  12. I guess I will go against the grain and say run a full hood and sides. To me, there is something about a 32 without fenders and a full hood. I spent a lot of time making my engine and engine compartment look clean but I still run a full hood.

It does look good on your profile picture. I thought I would like it more on mine but I have mixed feelings about it. I think I’m going get it to work with mine just so I have it but I’m probably not going to run it. I like it much better on a 33-34. Who know maybe at some point I’ll change my mind. I have an original grill shell too. I want to put that on soon. I need the cap and emblem though and I don’t want an aftermarket one.

I would have like to make a deal with you but I’m really happy with my purchase. I always had the intention of getting a 32-34 Coupe but your Sedan was awesome and reminded me of my 29 Tudor.

I run stock hood tops on all my cars.no sides...my 31 got an engine fire on the freeway and I would have never saved the car with hood sides... IMG_1296.jpg IMG_5704.jpg IMG_6494.jpg

  19. It looks great with a hood.
Maybe modify the location of the alternator before modifying the hood?

You can always run the car with or without the hood.... sort of like changing your shirt for date night... nice car, congrats on getting back into a rod.

Got stuck in gear this morning and I broke the shift lever. It was welded but without proper penetration. I still need to get it out of gear but I that will have to wait till I get home from work. The transmission is a Ford top loader with a Jeep shifter cover. I’m wondering why it was welded. Did it have internals from a Ford or was it just to shorten it? I’ll be figuring it out hopefully later today. Here’s a couple pictures. IMG_9776.jpeg IMG_9775.jpeg

I hear ya. I’ve seen some with hood that look great but I wasn’t feeling it on mine.
