That's the mile dirt track at Lakewood Speedway just south of Atlanta, Georgia. There were actually some scenes in the "Smokey and the Bandit" movie filmed there in the 1970s. The track had been paved with asphalt by that time.

I'm guessing that is Herb Thomas car or is it Tim Flock? Hadn't seen one of Herbs Hudsons in that paint job.

I had to do some digging but this looks like a 100 mile race at Lakewood on November 1, 1953. Herb Thomas was in the #92 and Tim Flock the #91 Hudson. Flock qualified on the pole but went out with overheating issues so maybe that's why the hood is up. Buck Baker won the race in a '53 Olds.

 

The guy in the back seat is still in it!
