This location will provide a panoramic view for the last day of 2025 Summer. It should not be crowded as all of the kids are back in school and the tourists have gone back home, too. Hello, If there is one place to visit while in So Cal, it is the Los Angeles City location high on a hill. The site is one of the absolute best for viewing all of So Cal splayed out for you from the mountains to the ocean in one turn of your head… It is public, iconic, and a wonderful learning place for all involved. Plus, the sunsets are tremendous on a clear sky day into night. Since the 2025 official Summer is on its last day, today, for those So Cal folks, take a drive to the Griffith Observatory and prepare yourself for one of the best show(s) (pun intended) Inside, the lights, information and colorful displays give off a great show. Outside at sunset, step back and watch the whole horizon, almost beyond 180 degrees, give you another way to see So Cal. This is something to write home about. The Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles. As a teenager with our cool cruising sedans, we drove to this spot for the show. Then we were able to go to a nice burger place, for a meal and nice drive in the area. Thanks, @themoose Like most teenagers, the inside information on stars, astronomy and other displays were nice, but not the main thing for us. It was the mood. And, what a mood the great sunset provides. Jnaki As 20 somethings intent on a nice night of cruising around the hot spots of Hollywood and Los Angeles, this is a great way to start the whole evening. Then, again, a great dinner in Los Angeles, Canter’s in the ever popular Fairfax District or Yamashiro, high on the Hollywood Hills. (Another great night time lights view from the dining room.) So, if one stays at the Griffith Observatory until evening, then the 180 degree daytime/sunset view turns on its nighttime display of lights for all to enjoy. YRMV
