The 52-59 Ford FAQ sticky contained a mountain of information. HRP

I hope there is a place to save the information from that forum. I found lots of helpful information in a centralized location. If what I needed to know wasn’t already documented, members of the group were quick to respond! I’ll need those resources to keep things moving on my Customline. Parts are finally starting to go back together. Thank you!

So just start posting on General Page? Too hard to find answers/questions/discussion about our years. Guess we'll move one.

My 59 would still be laid up if not for those guys and I have a lot more to do. It was nice to be able to zero in on a target audience when I had a question.

Too bad we were not warned in advance, so members could try to save it.

Can the group content be transferred over to the Ford Barn? Lots of great info, needs to be saved.

The Ford Barn is not a custom car or hot rod site, they cater to the original car guys, I know that every now and then something crosses over.

I honestly believe Ryan knows the 52-59 Ford social group was extremely active and the members were seriously working on cars and sharing a lot of information, all the how to's, the parts exchange and the majority of the members did their best to keep building the FAQ's.

    Give him some time. HRP

Disappointing! It was a very valuable resource. Hopefully something can be done to keep this alive.

Got it. Hoping maybe an exception could be made, or that another alternative is found to retain the info. I haven't used the group stuff lately but still check in on it every so often.

If you do not want to be tracked on any site, and you have Google Chrome click on the three dot icon in the upper right corner and you can go incognito prior to posting.

You'd be doing a bunch of folks a big service if you could find way to save it.

Not trying to be a jerk, so please don't take it that way. But do you realize that this was the only place available to get help from people who knew how to build the 52-59 Ford cars. My 56 went from a shell to a running/driving car with a modern drivetrain because of the group and guys like JeffB who were willing to help. Hope you reconsider.

@55newbie Try the new 52-59 Ford group over on the Ford Barn. Some of the guys are putting things back together for us over there!

Information from Hot Rod Primer: Since the social groups on the HAMB have been deleted many of us didn't want to see it gone so we found a new home by moving the group over to the FORD BARN.

How to join, you must be a member of the Ford Barn, click on community in the black banner, it will drop down and you will see social groups.

    52-59 Ford social group

Join up today and let's get back to the 52-59 Fords. HRP

I don't understand why you guys feel the need to jump to the ford barn with this now that there is an off topic forum to post in. that way the information would be available to everyone , not just a select few "members" of a semi secret social group?

Allowing the vast encyclopedia of contributions to vanish may have been interpreted as a betrayal, especially since much of the data is on topic. But I do see your point.

    Simple Fix......
    Just Sticky a Post
52-59 forum in the Antiquated Section so fellas can post and have at it.
It shouldn't be an issue to collaborate in the open and start with a clean slate. ( Be happy :))

Ford Barn guys aren't going to like it if you post off topic Non Original stuff and I'm betting most of the 52-59 social forum here wasn't 100% original which is what the Ford Barn is, and talk of betrayal, that would do it.

@Ryan can we Sticky a 52-59 Post in the Antiquated and keep the fellas here instead of upsetting the Ford Barn purists ?

I'm thinking my suggestion would solve this pretty quick.

We are all fortunate to have this and I wouldn't bite the hand that feeds ya if you know what I mean.

antiquated forum is for non automotive 65 and older stuff. could do it in the off topic section though. I don't know about sticky with one post though? wouldn't it be better with posts for each of their individual subjects? chassis, body, engine etc? shouldn't really be a need for stickies is there?

52-59 is On Topic so instead of in the Off Topic and feeling "Betrayed" that's why I put the Antiquated so the 52-59 guys have their own "special" spot.

Just trying to keep the peace.....
Heck put it in Off Topic and the guys either like it or .....

but antiquated is for non automotive. besides a lot of their content was off topic with crown vic late model frame clips and modern efi engines. If their content was on topic it could have been on the main board and we wouldn't be having this discussion

Mark, the Ford Barn has retained their Social groups so there is no conflict with any of the barners, fact is some of them has joined the new social group 52-59 Fords.

Cob, were you able to access the FAQ's from the old site, there were many in depth how to's about fitment, suspension along with engine a transmission swaps.

Even Ryan commented on that part of the social group. HRP

Ok I am going to say this, why in the Hell does the 52-9 ford group need to be apart from the forum, especially now that there is an off topic section. seems to me like you guys have not learned a damned thing. just wait until there is a scammer problem in the social club section on the Ford barn and Ryan has to dump it... there goes your content again while if you had just used the off topic forum here, the content would be available to everyone and would not be in danger of being lost....

because a bunch of their previous content was late model crown vic frame clips , modern EFI engines and other such things that made it off topic on the main board which was why they were off in the soc forum. but now that there is an off topic forum there is absolutely no reason why they can't post there or for that matter if they have on topic material it could be on the main board. What am I missing here that makes that group want to hide from the main board???
