Hello, This Van De Kamp Bakery was a popular one in the 19 60s as it was on Wilshire Blvd. When my wife and I used to hang around in West Los Angeles and that Wilshire shopping area in 68-69, we tried to go there in the late hours. They had great coffee and pie + little crusty Danish desert items that was to live for, as the center item was wonderful. (Jelly, cheese, strawberry sauce with chunks, etc.) It was a great late night place when it was open and not crowded. When we were little kids, our dad used to take us to the various Van de Kamp places as our mom did not make the stuff they had there. Her apple pies and turnovers were the best anywhere, but when we were all out and about, our dad treated us to a nice desert at those Van de Kamp restaurants. Those places were just about everywhere and they all stood out. Jnaki Blue and white colors of the company stood out in the commercial buildings. But the early restaurants had the huge windmill blades that stood up in the air. Gradually, they all came down as the later versions were no longer in the windmill buildings. But, the memories of the sweet rolls and sugary topping desserts always stuck in our minds. So, anytime we were going on one of our long surfing road trips, a pack of cinnamon sugar coated buns or rolls came along for the ride. And, to our satisfaction…YRMV
