When one lives in So Cal in a coastal area, the theme of surfing and surfboards is usually attached to various things. in this case, (pun intended) these two were outstanding. They were spotted in a display case in a friend's little shop. Hello, A black 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe with a surfboard on top? Who would have thought of that? A coupe is not the most available long surfboard transportation around. There were very few coupes that had longboards on top. Our teenage neighbor back in the Westside of Long Beach had a fast 1934 black coupe, built with an Oldsmobile modified motor and a LaSalle transmission. He ran it as his daily driver to school and the weekends were spent racing in the early A/Gas class. He won several trophies in that class at Lion’s Dragstrip. A/Gas Coupe class at Lion’s Dragstrip. But, in the days of our surfing timeline, we never saw the 1934 Coupe have any surfboards on top. Jnaki Then one day, I saw this set up in a coastal repair shop. The owner was a collector of things old and these fit the bill. The surfboard on top of the 1934 Black coupe is close to real proportions. The board on the T-Bird could be considered a short board. Scale proportions make the difference. YRMV
Great collection. I got that { Marx } Big Red Hot Rod as a kid for Christmas. { The black one }. I probably repainted it a hafe dozen times. lol I did find another one at a swap meet that was in mostly good condition.
