Since owning an early Corvette is a pipe dream, much less the possibility of a custom one, I decided to build my own in 1/25 scale. Taking inspiration from a Steve Sanford illustration, I grafted a 63 front clip on a 62. I used styrene rod to blend the 63 body reveal into the 62 coves. I really dig it. Now to figure out a killer custom paint scheme...
The Corvettes were nicely styled cars to begin with. I think some of them look nice, but a lot of them are horrors.
here are some updates on that car in post 313. pretty sure I saw this car in Fremont Ca. in the early 80's. with fat tires and up high in the front, no hood and a tunnel ram. painted orange... no pics. glad some restorer didn't get ahold of it and ruin it
these are 2 different cars. the red one is a 53, (no side coves) and the other car is a 57 but they were both customized with similar grilles
I noticed the decklid was different, but did not notice the sides. must be a tribute. tail lights are the same. this was in an article with the real car showing vintage as well as current roached out pics plus the red one with no notes
