I came here today hoping for a Christmas miracle.
No such luck maybe next year if I'm good.

I've wondered quite often what became of the car and would love to see an update. More importantly though I hope Eric is ok and still flying the skies.
That said, if he's now driving a Prius instead of this badass Plymouth he is no longer on my Christmas card list.:D

Make that two! Unfortunately I left the Netherlands 12 years ago. Otherwise I could have looked up.
Hope to meet him once again in his car and he has the time of his life.

Be nice to have some blanks filled in, but I think the project has been moth balled long term.

Just found this thread. I am currently building a '40 Plymouth Deluxe 2dr sedan. Mie is closer to stock, stock rebuilt front suspension, Saab power rack and pinion, 331 hemi, 200R4 tranny, '15 Mustang rear end. Sheet metal and trim all stock.

Question; I see you planned on painting the running boards. Mine are stripped too so full of molding holes like yours. Are you filling and finishing before painting or leaving the holes? No good option left out there to have the rubber restored. I was even thinking of having mine upholstered with weatherproof vinyl.

If you haven't planned on counterbalancing the trunk lid (don't know if the factory provided counter balance for '41s). you might want to do what I did. I installed a couple Amazon air cylinders. Attach to the package tray and bend in the hinge. Works great.

I saw the car on eBay before Farmer got it, I was interested at the time, didn't pull the trigger.

I was following this thread a few years ago. Does anyone know what ever happened to the car and to Farmer12? Looked like he was in the final stages. Hope all is well.

Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing well!
Update: still alive and still have the car. (and still planning to finish it.)
I’ve moved to the Caribbean a couple of years ago…left the Plymouth back in Holland.
She’s in an air controlled space under a soft blanket….working on a plan with a good
friend of mine to have finished in the next 12 months.

  14. G'day Eric, good for you. Now about that €25 for the single whitewall your brother-in-law dropped off here. I still have both :rolleyes:o_O:D. Every time i see that tyre i think of the interest rate involved,. Cheers. Henry

I can tell you I was not expecting to see this, this evening!
I'm happy to hear you are still among the living, and you still have the car. I do look forward to hearing about its completion over the next 12 months. Please keep us posted as things move along, if you can.

As the warning goes, the HAMB now has an "Off Topic" section, and as updates come along, this thread will likely end up over there.
At the top of the header page, in the red banner, you can see "The H.A.M.B. listed (2nd from the left). Highlight it, then move down to the "Misc" section where the "Off Topic Hot Rods" section is the first listing. Click on it and it will open into the off topic section. Then its just a matter of finding this thread. I might suggest you request the thread be moved there and you can just save it and when you open it it will take you directly to the off topic section and to this thread. There you can post any pictures of the car, and cover an upgrades that you would like. No need to be concerned about hiding anything.

  21. Why would this car & build be classed as "off topic"...........its a hotrod.........I thought this was a hotrod site........does everything have to have a flathead ford engine and a transverse axle & spring........I'll get back in my corner now.....andyd

You are lucky. I get cancelled every time I mention a M2 conversion.

@andydodge Several times through the original process he had to modify how things were worded, and redo several pictures that were taken (as stated by @willys36). The fact is, we are very fortunate the thread survived.

The year before the Off Topic section appeared, nearly any addition to this thread would have caused it disappear. These days it will probably just get moved to the off topic section and many would not know where it went.
