    Hello,

The City of Industry is a city in the San Gabriel Valley, in eastern Los Angeles County, The city is almost entirely industrial, containing over 3,000 businesses employing 67,000 people, with only 264 residents as of the 2020 census, making it the third least populous city in the state. It was incorporated on June 18, 1957, and has become the economic hub for the San Gabriel Valley.

The City of Industry was named for the goals and objectives section of the general plan which identified the primary goal of the city as "creating and maintaining an ideal setting for manufacturing, distribution and industrial facilities."

The City of Industry has no business taxes and is primarily funded through retail sales tax from shopping centers located within the city limits, and property tax on parcels within the city. The city has the highest property tax rate in Los Angeles County, at 1.92%.

The sales tax is 9.50%. which is one of the highest in California.

The City of Industry is the home of the Puente Hills Mall, a major shopping center that was the Twin Pines/Lone Pine Mall in the "Back to the Future" movie series

Have we ever lived in the city of industry, No. But, we have flown over it many times coming into the coastal LAX Airport on the coast. The landing pattern for all landing jets during a normal wind occurence day is from the East. The corridor is low enough through this valley that one can see businesses and places of interest out of the side windows.

It is a long landing pattern starting well out past Riverside. It continues at a low and lower pattern as the jets head West to the coast and the final destination, LAX.

    Note:

For a small city along a busy freeway, the 2028 Olympic Committee has selected the official Mountain Bike Competition to be held in the City of Industry. It will be about an hour drive from Downtown Los Angeles. YRMV

The "Golden Fin" Furys. '56-'58 only. Were a 2 door HT, 1 special interior and exterior color only. 2-4's were optional on the '56's, but standard on the '57 and 8. '57 the standard Fury motor was a special equipped HP 318 with 2-4's. The special 318 Fury motor was optional across the board for any other '57 Plymouth. The standard motor for the '58 Fury was the special HP 318 '57 carryover only. With the HP L-350 as the optional Fury motor. The HP L-350 was a motor option on ALL the other '58 Plymouths. The 150mph speed odometer was standard Fury issue. But was included with the motor option. The Bumper wings were Fury standard equipment, but optional on everything else. The "Gold" colored Sport-tone and grille was Fury only. While the "Silver" colored Sport-tone insert and grille was a '58 Belvedere option only.

There are rumors of a "special ordered" '57-'58 Furys in a convertible body style. Those were dealer conversions, or buyer conversions.

Those Bumper Wings are in HIGH demand for the Forward Look people. Priced like "balls on a Giraffe"!
